I like my new Swedish cleaning tool so much better than microfiber towels – it has a great ‘grippy’ surface
A CLEANING whizz has revealed the tool that caused them to ditch their microfiber towels.
They raved about the upgrade that was better in nearly every single way.
The anonymous Redditor u/sasny shared their cleaning tip in a post.
They picked up reusable and washable Swedish dishcloths, which quickly blew them away.
“So I decided to give these a try in place of my yellow microfiber towels from Costco, and I have to say, I like these so much better!” they wrote.
Not only were the cloths better suited for small spaces but a built-in feature made them more suited to cleaning.
“These cloths are thinner, smaller, and have a ‘grippy’ surface that lends itself really well to wiping down surfaces,” they said.
“They rinse so well, wring out easily, and dry so quickly there’s never a smell.
“I use these for wiping down kitchen countertops and my bathroom sink and I’m just so impressed with how well they clean up dirt.”
They were thrilled to have found their go-to tool for cleaning up, although they weren’t quite ready to give up microfiber cloths quite yet.
“I’ll still use microfiber cloths for dusting but I’d say these take my top spot now for general wiping of messes. And also, they’re just so cute!” they said.
“I’m a convert: Swedish dishcloths for the win!”
Other cleaning experts agreed that the cloth was a great all-purpose hack for low-maintenance upkeep.
“I love this type of cleaning sponge. I use them for my dishes and for whiping down and dusting all kinds of surfaces,” wrote one commenter.
“Once they get stained too much, I just retire them from dish duty to cleaning duty.”
They even offered a tip to keep the dishcloths in tip-top shape for as long as possible.
“If you hang them up properly, they dry out quickly and should have less bacteria growing in them than a stick sponge. I throw them in the hot wash together with towels.”
