I’m 56 and look better than I did in my 40s – my 3-part routine keeps my skin young, it costs next to nothing
ONE Fountain of Youth seeking beauty lover went to battle to fight the aging process – and won.
This glow-getter’s secret weapons were also budget-friendly.
“Beauty really is more than skin deep. I’m going to be 56 years old and yet I think my skin is better now than when I was in my 40s,” said Annette (@freshstart4you).
Her smooth skincare tricks that seemed to defy the decades were also affordable.
“There’s three things I do to keep my skin looking young,” she said.
She never skips the first step of her age-rewinding routine – icing her face.
Whether she’s doing a facial for herself or just a regular wash-up, she never forgets to ice her face every night.
In another age-defying move, Anette dermaplanes her face once a week to remove all of the “top layers of skin and turn those skin cells over.”
And for good reason.
“As you get older, it slows down,” she said.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, dermaplaning is used to treat skin, including acne scars, with a hand-held instrument known as a dermatone.
The dermatone features an oscillating blade that moves back and forth to skim off the surface layers of skin surrounding the craters, or other facial defects.
Dermaplaning can be done on small areas of skin, or on the entire face.
She certainly wasn’t going to let any more slowing down take place.
To repair her skin and speed things up, Annette steams her face every other night.
“I take it from extremes. From ice to steam,” she said.
She also shared her biggest issue, and it’s not wrinkles.
Rather, her goal is to eliminate the look of hyperpigmentation.
“For that, I try to stay cool, because it’s not just the sun that ends up giving you brown spots, it’s heat and when you overheat.
She explained what else you need to be careful of.
