Emmerdale’s Rhona Goskirk loses control in court as she faces prison for kidnap
EMMERDALE’S Rhona Goskirk has put her freedom on the line by ranting at a judge during her kidnap trial.
The vet – who is played by actress Zoe Henry in the ITV soap – lost her temper as she was questioned over why she kidnapped baby Ivy.
Rhona lost her cool in court tonight – but will it cost her her freedom?[/caption] Gus tried his best to paint Rhona as disturbed and unhinged[/caption]Viewers know she took Ivy after ex Gus plotted an escape to France after fraudulently obtaining Rhona’s embryos and implanting them into his then wife Lucy.
Lucy died in childbirth and Rhona ended up caring for Ivy and Gus – before realising that he planned to take her away from him.
During the case everything from Rhona’s drug addiction, her lesbian affair and her recent troubles with Marlon were brought up to try to discredit her.
But when the barrister goaded Rhona into losing her temper about Ivy – she did in spectacular style.
He asked her why she broke the law and she replied: “Then I would question the rule of law on this.
“I am here to try and stop you from sending me to prison when I am clearly the victim.
“The law is an ass quite frankly. I’m sorry but he stole from me.
“He allowed another woman to give birth to my child without me having a say or a right to argue.
“And now when I want to have an opinion how that child, is raised, I am accused of abduction and kidnap.
“It’s insanity. Ivy is my child in every way that matters. And you have to believe that I only took her because I love her. She is my daughter.”
The judge intervened to give Rhona a break until tomorrow, while Gus sat smugly in the gallery.
“Well done Rhona,” said Gus as he approached her outside the court.
“You offended the judge, the jury thinks you’re hysterical and it turns out we didn’t need to get the drug addiction to stick.
