I thrifted 2 nesting bowls for $3.99 – their unique thumbprint design gave them away, they’re worth hundreds more
A BARGAIN hunter has revealed they bought dishware from a luxury brand for an enviably low price.
They were convinced that they couldn’t leave the money-saving items on the shelf while knowing their true value.
The shopper took to Reddit’s Thrift Store Hauls forum to post about the find.

They shared photographs of two bowls that appeared to be in good condition with no visible scratches or cracks.
On the bottom of the bowls, was the logo of a luxury brand alongside details stating they were made in the US.
“For $3.99, how could I not buy these Tiffany & Co. nesting bowls?” the shopper said.
Hundreds of Reddit users upvoted the post to show that they were impressed with the thrift shop purchase.
“Very chic, I love them!!” one person said.
“Timeless and beautiful. I’m jealous but thrilled for you!” another wrote.
“OMG, so wonderful! Congrats,” a third chimed in.
“Elsa Peretti collection – nice find!” another added.
Elsa Peretti’s thumbprint design is one of her “most famous” creations, according to Tiffany & Co.
A 7-inch bowl in the collection, which is made from mouth-blown Venetian glass, is priced at $200.
Meanwhile, 11-inch versions cost $450 but are currently sold out online.
Pre-owned versions of the bowl sell on eBay for around $100.

The Reddit user’s impressive thrift find comes after another shopper was delighted by cookware they found for an affordable price.
Thrifting tips
According to Goodwill, there isn’t an exact time and date that’s best to visit thrift stores.
However, many regular shoppers say early in the day on Monday and Tuesday is best for getting the first pick from weekend garage sale leftovers.
Weekdays are usually also less busy than weekends, which means employees spend time restocking the shelves.
Thrift store employees will also be able to inform of any specialty discounts such as seniors, students, military members, and teachers.
She shared a photo of a blue cast iron Le Creuset cooking set as she raved about how much it cost her.
“I paid $42,” she said. “Braiser, 7qt Dutch oven, a saucepan, and a mixing bowl with a random lid.”

Commenters were shocked by the bargain buy and said they would’ve also celebrated the find.
“I’d be doing cartwheels! I love to cook and that’s my favorite color! Nice!!” one person said.
