I tested three bronzing drops including an affordable option which comes in three shades

0

MY approach to beauty trends falls into two categories.

Either I’m an early adopter and quickly integrate them into my routine, or I ignore them completely.

We tested three bronzing drops at all price points

Recently, one product has bucked the trend and pulled me in via a very slow burn – bronzing drops.

I put three to the test.

BUDGET

E.L.F. Cosmetics Bronzing Drops comes in three different shades

E.L.F. Cosmetics Bronzing Drops, (£12 for 30ml, elfcosmetics.co.uk):

This was the thickest formula of the three tested, and the hardest to blend out – which might sound like a negative but actually meant I could use it with a brush as a liquid bronzer as well as with my skincare for an all over glow.

Although, if you want sheer, imperceptible coverage, it’s worth noting you will have to mix it with another product.

It’s the only product to offer more than one shade, with three in total, which is a great win for the most affordable option here.

MID-RANGE

Isle Of Paradise Liquid Sunny Serum is glowy but not glittery

ISLE Of Paradise Liquid Sunny Serum (£15.95 for 30ml, boots.com): Boasting skin-loving ingredients niacinamide, squalane and jojoba oil, I love that this is basically a skincare step and can replace my morning serum rather than adding to my already arduous routine.

It’s glowy but not glittery, and a little goes a long way – so much so that you need half a pump at most.

The only downside is that it just comes in one shade, so fingers crossed there’s more on the horizon.

This is my favourite, as it slots into my routine seamlessly.

LUXURY

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops are very subtle

DRUNK Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops (£35 for 30ml, boots.com): The original, but are they the best?

According to TikTok, there’s no question, but I’m not quite sold myself.

I love the lightweight texture, which is almost like water, but as soon as I apply foundation on top it’s like the tint never existed.

It’s super-subtle, so if you just want a little help feeling more put together before the school run or when popping to the shops, it’s great, but don’t expect fake tan-like results.

Pick of the week

The Jones Road I Am Me Kit launched this week and contains five staples

NOBODY knows how to do subtle make-up quite like celebrity make-up artist Bobbi Brown, and that expertise is channelled into her beauty brand Jones Road.

Every product is completely foolproof, no matter how skilled you are with make-up.

So, if you’re in the market for a fresh start, The I Am Me Kit, £72, launched this week and contains five staples.
