Gardeners have been loving Lidl new range of plants and outdoor decor[/caption] TikTok have fallen in love with the Marguerite Daisies at the supermarket[/caption]Though the supermarket might not be the obvious destination for gardening essentials, that has changed in recent years.
In fact, the German supermarket just held its ‘Massive Garden Event’ with planters for just £1.99 in the middle aisle.
From glow-in-the-dark pebbles to plant feed, there were endless gardening goodies to help get ready for the warmer weather this summer.
Though the event was launched on April 25, Lidl shoppers are still finding great gardening buys – including Marguerite Daisies for under a tenner.
These super hardy plants love the milder temperatures that we get in the UK and produce pretty blooms in shades of white and pink.
Flowering once a year through from Spring to Autumn, they also produce a dark foliage that works brilliantly in borders and flower beds.
Alternatively, you can plant them in large containers for a pop of colour in small outdoor spaces, such as patios and balconies.
Having spotted them in the supermarket, TikTok user @fjhinteriors couldn’t wait to add them to her garden and even made a viral video about her buy.
Showing the plant outside her local Lidl and then her home, the décor expert showed just how easily the Marguerite Daisies could transform her space.
Tagging the supermarket in the caption, she wrote: “Get yourself to @LidlGB because these are stunning and such a bargain too!”
The proud mum had even got her little ones involved in a bit of gardening, using one of their toy watering cans to give the Marguerite Daisies a quick drink.
If you weren’t already sold, these gorgeous blooms are on sale for just £8.99 while stocks last.
It seems the mum wasn’t the only one who’d spotted the plants in her local Lidl with others also revealing they’d done the same.
One wrote: “ I got one & popped it in the garden….[it] looks lovely.”
Another admitted they’d been a little nervous to buy them, saying: “I bought 3 the other day. I hope I can keep them alive [but] in reality they probably look cute for a week.”
“These are my favourites…I’m trying to grow them in my garden,” said a third.

She gushed in the caption: “They also had peonies for £8.99 – madness.”
With these bargain buys, your garden will be looking blooming lovely in no time and for less than a tenner too!
Lidl shoppers have also spotted peonies in stores[/caption]Bulbs to plant now for a beautiful summer display
The Sun's Gardening Editor, Veronica Lorraine, has shared her top five bulbs to plant in your garden or in pots, over the next couple of weeks to have a lovely display during the summer months.
Summer bulbs are guaranteed to bring light and colour to your outside space and are a perfect way to transform a drab bed or area.
Have a look at online voucher sites like Wowcher or Living Social which often have incredible deals on summer bulbs – the other day I spotted 300 bulbs for £29.99, bargain!
They can be planted – pointed end up – about three times the bulb depth. And they can go straight into the ground or into pots.
The beauty of pots is that they can be moved around the garden to brighten up a corner – or if you fancy a bit of a transformation.
When it comes to colour, designers suggest that you go for bright reds and yellows near your back door – which tricks the eye into making your garden look bigger.
And if you go for paler blues and pinks at the end of the garden, it makes it look longer. So experiment with different colour schemes to see which brings you the most joy.
If you fancy a tropical theme – you can go for bulbs like Crocosmia – which show off big greeny space filling foilage for months – then stun with bright yellowy orange spikey flowers later in the summer.
It comes back bigger each year – which is great and not so great when it starts to take over. Calla lilies, Cannas and lilies are also very tropical looking.
Gladioli are fabulous and showy for cottage garden feels, and not only do Peonies look fab – they come back year after year, which is great for your budget.
Dahlias are absolutely all the rage at the moment – garden influencers love them because they’re an instant Instagram hit. They take a bit of work with pinching out and supports – but are absolute showstoppers.
