BBC fans ‘obsessed’ with ‘genius’ crime drama on iPlayer with whopping Rotten Tomatoes score
CRIME drama fans have given their stamp of approval to a ‘fabulous’ new series which is airing on BBC iPlayer.
Wisting, a Norwegian police thriller procedural based on novels by Jørn Lier Horst, first aired back in 2019.
Oslo-born actor Sven Nordin stars in the title role of William Wisting[/caption] Thea Green Lundberg plays William’s daughter Line[/caption]All three seasons to date are available to watch on iPlayer since the BBC picked the show up shortly after series one aired in Norway.
The show focuses on William Wisting (Sven Nordin), a small town senior homicide detective.
The premise sees Wisting investigate an American serial killer hiding in Norway and in turn cross paths with his journalist daughter’s latest story.
Canadian actress Carrie-Anne Moss, known for playing Trinity in The Matrix films, stars as Maggie Griffin, a visiting FBI special agent on secondment to Wisting’s team.
Hollywood star Carrie-Anne Moss has featured in the series[/caption]Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their enjoyment of the programme.
One wrote: “Little bit obsessed with Wisting. Fabulous Scandi drama and thanks to a well placed FBI element, a mix of Norwegian and English, so I can look at my cup of tea whilst drinking it without missing anything.”
Another added: “Listen up! You are really missing out if you’re not watching Wisting on iPlayer, I’m obsessed!”
A third viewer shared: “Wisting is brilliant. Lots in Norwegian with subs but well worth sticking with it.
“Superb, genius plot keeps you gripped to the very end. Beautiful country too.”
As of writing, the show has a score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The fourth season started airing in the UK from April 13.
