She was replaced by Nina Warhurst, 43, who filled in for the star as she took some much needed down time.
The presenter beamed as she sat on the iconic BBC Breakfast sofa wearing a short-sleeved teal gown.
She also stood by one of the extensive graphic screens in the studio as she read out the news headlines of the day.
Nina updated viewers on the latest news, and she also interviewed politicians on the morning round.
However, some viewers were not happy with the replacement as she was later slammed by viewers for some her interviews.
They took to X – formerly known as Twitter – as they claimed her interview with the Labour Party representative was ‘cynical’.
One viewer asked: “Anyone seen Naga Munchetty? I think I’m actually missing her today. #BBCBreakfast.”
A second BBC Breakfast fan stated: “Nina really is a useless bag of spanners #BBCBreakfast.”
“Nina banging the #tory drum on #bbcbreakfast,” wrote a third user.
As another claimed: “Nina Warhurst dripping with cynicism over Labour’s pledges.
They added: “Also citing Reform as ‘doing well’ They won only two seats out of 2,500 contested at the local elections and are having to be bailed out by Tice. What a load of nonsense.”
But not all viewers thought the same thing, as some seemed to be delighted by the change is presenter.
One fan gushed: “#BBCBreakfast How lovely to see Nina on the sofa this morning.”
