An Aldi shopper has been left beaming after she ‘hit the jackpot’ with her huge haul of reduced food from the much-loved chain[/caption] Not only did Linda Ungure stock up on fruit and vegetables, but she also nabbed packed lunch goodies and and fish too[/caption]The bargain hunter was left grinning after doing her weekly food shop in Aldi, in South Elmsall, West Yorkshire, when she spotted a huge variety of bargain buys.
Thrilled with her finds, Linda Ungure made sure to stock up on the red sticker buys, many of which had been slashed by a whopping 75%.
Clearly overjoyed with her savings, the Aldi fan took to social media to alert other shoppers.
Posting on Yellow sticker shopping tips, tricks and hauls, a private Facebook group with 182,800 members, Linda shared snaps of her huge haul and beamed: “Very happy!”
She then added: “One of my best [hauls] ever.”
Linda reassured social media users that she did indeed leave some of the reduced food for others, as she claimed: “And yes I left [some] for other people as well!
“There was loads left and actually no one was interested except me.”
Not only did Linda manage to get her hands on multiple packs of smoked salmon, which had been reduced by 75%, but she also nabbed eggs that were reduced by 75% too.
As well as this, Linda swiped a selection of fruit and vegetables, including a prepared salad, packs of radishes, aubergines, spring onions, strawberries and potatoes.
If that wasn’t enough, the Aldi fan also got a potato salad and packs of cooked chicken breast slices – perfect for packed lunches.
Linda later confirmed: “I went at around 3pm, but sometimes they have even earlier reductions, it just depends on the day.”
Linda shared her post just 16 hours ago, but it has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up almost 200 likes and 67 comments.
When's the best time to shop at Aldi?
WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.
For reduced items – when shops open
Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.
A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”
That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.
Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.
For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays
Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.
New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.
For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.
You don’t have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.
They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance.
As long as you spend at least £25, you’ll get the items delivered for free.
Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible
Social media users were left open-mouthed at Linda’s hefty haul and many took to the comments to express this.
Whilst one Aldi fan claimed that Linda had ‘hit the jackpot’ with her finds, others were stunned by her ‘amazing bargains’.
Love how many of them were 75% off!

Why is Aldi so good for bargains?
THOMAS Gallagher, who has worked for Aldi for 10 years, has revealed how you can pick up the biggest bargains from the much-loved chain.
The best day to shop: According to Thomas, the best day to shop is Tuesday, particularly before 10am and after 6pm. This is because stores are quieter than usual and therefore your chances of finding a bargain are higher.
Fresh food offers: There is also a specific day of the week in which a range of offers is launched for fresh food too, according to Thomas. He said that in his store this special day when his store’s “Fresh Weekly Offers” is Thursday.
Specialbuys: Aldi shoppers know its middle aisle is the stuff of legends, where you can find all the best products for incredibly low prices. For the latest offering from the Specialbuys range, make sure to visit stores on Thursday and Sunday when the products are first launched. Although, Thomas warned shoppers to be quick, as they don’t stay on the shelves for long.
How to find the most reduced products: Fresh food can also be reduced by as much as 75% throughout the day. Thomas explained how 30%, 50% or 75% discount stickers are applied to products at various points throughout the day as they approach their best-before or use-by dates to help reduce food waste. He added that products such as rice, pasta, cereal and tinned food are also reduced by 30% if the packaging is imperfect.
A third commented: “Well done! Hit the jackpot there.”
At the same time, another bargain hunter beamed: “Stunning haul!”
Meanwhile, someone else penned: “Love how many of them were 75% off!”
