Famous chef’s young son launches his own cooking show – with debut episode to air in a matter of days
CELEBRITY chef Jamie Oliver is a household name, but his young son Buddy Oliver is ready to make a splash with some recipes of his own.
The 12-year-old had his own show greenlit by the BBC after shooting to fame on his YouTube channel, Cooking Buddies.
Buddy’s new programme will see him teach other kids how to rustle up family-friendly recipes.
Broadcasting bosses have now revealed that the show will start airing on Wednesday, July 10.
Kids can watch along on CBBC and learn new tips and tricks in the kitchen from Wednesday to Friday nights each week.
An insider previously told the Sun: “Buddy has taken all of his dad’s experience on board and is about to put it into play with his own cookery show.
“He’s already had great success with content on YouTube and Instagram.
“Jamie’s fans have long been asking for his son to have his own show for their kids to enjoy.
“The series will see Buddy joined in the kitchen by other children as he teaches recipes and gives helpful tips to youngsters on how to get started with cooking.”
After the show was initially announced prospective viewers may have suspected that Jamie would join in to give his son a helping hand and boost the ratings.
However, the chef has made it clear that he wants his son to go solo and build a brand for himself, rather than riding on his coattails.
The source who spoke to Rod McPhee added: “Buddy is the star of the show.
“Jamie is keen for his son to prove himself to telly audiences, not just live off the family name.
“So Buddy’s got to showcase his technical skills and presenting ability.
“But if his YouTube work is anything to go by, it’ll be natural for him.”
