Amazon Fire Stick owners slam ads that are ‘more annoying than ever’ replacing a popular feature on their TVs
AMAZON Fire Stick users are not impressed after noticing that ads have appeared in another part of the device.
The popular budget streaming stick has been steadily increasing the number of ads – though it hasn’t gone down well with viewers.
Users have complained about the latest Fire TV change[/caption]Earlier this year there were complaints about ads showing up on the home screen.
And ads started appearing as soon as users switch their Fire TV device on too.
Now it seems ads are loading on the much-loved screensaver as well.
A full screen promo comes up on some Fire devices after the TV has been idle for a few seconds, according to CordCuttersNews.
It’s claimed that the ad plays for between 30 seconds to a minute before your usual screensaver shows up.
“If they actually cared about user experience, they would know that users don’t want this kind of c**p on their tv,” one user wrote online.
“I will never buy a Fire TV ever in its current state,” another commented.
A third added: “Ads are more annoying than ever.”
It’s not clear whether Amazon is deploying the feature globally or selected locations.
So far, reports have only emerged from the US.
Amazon has previously said: “Our focus is on delivering an immersive experience so customers can enjoy their favourite TV shows and movies, as well as browse and discover more content they’ll want to watch.
“We’re always working to make the Fire TV experience better for customers and have updated one of the prominent placements in the UI to play a short content preview if no other action is taken by a customer upon turning on their Fire TV.”
