Claire Sweeney leads the stars at Coronation Street’s summer party as I’m A Celeb’s Andy Whyment belts out Oasis
THE Coronation Street cast were out in full force as they celebrated and let their hair down at their summer get together.
Attending Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse, the ITV soap stars were treated to drinks, dancing and karaoke to celebrate.

The star, who has played Cassie Plummer since June 2023, was just one of the stars who braved the rain to attend the summer celebrations.
Also in attendance was I’m A Celebrity star Andy Whyment, who has played Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street since 2000, and he wasted no time in joining in the fun with karaoke.
Belting out Oasis alongside a band and with a drink in his hand, the singer’s vocals were shared to Instagram by fellow actor Colson Smith.
The Craig Tinker actor shared clips of Andy’s performance as he wowed the crowds and belted out the tunes.
Also celebrating the soap was comedian Jack Carroll who joined the soap just after Christmas to play Bobby, the son of Carla’s brother Rob Donovan.
Actor Sam Robertson stayed true to his Scottish roots and donned a kilt for the occasion, arriving with sunglasses on and black boots.
Keeping it casual, Michael North also joined his cast mates. The actor has played Gary Windass since 2008 in the ITV soap.
The actor chose to downplay the dress code, choosing a khaki jumper with plain black trousers and shoes.
The cast and crew of Coronation Street got a chance to let their hair down, but the soap hit the headlines earlier this month when it was revealed some of the stars were ‘annoyed’ they would have to pay for their own celebrations this year.
Usually the stars are treated to an all-expenses paid bash, yet The Sun can exclusively reveal there’s trouble brewing due to soap cutbacks by show bosses.
Slashed budgets have previously left Coronation Street stars “fearing for their future” – and now all-expenses backstage perks have been culled too.
An insider explained: “There has been a lot of grumbling about the fact they have to pay for their own party this year.
“It’s one the biggest shows in the UK and the stars think a few free drinks is the least they should be getting.
“There have been loads of cut backs this year on the soap and bosses made the decision to scale back where they can, so the party was one of the first things to go.
“Everyone will still go but they are not happy about it.”
