People are only just realising the right way to use salt and pepper shakers and it’s blowing their minds
A WOMAN has left the internet baffled after sharing her clever hack to get salt and pepper out.
While many of us will shake the salt and pepper pots endlessly, a woman has revealed an easier and quicker way to get your food seasoned.
It turns out we’ve been using them wrong our whole lives[/caption]Although they are literally called salt and pepper shakers, it seems to take a ridiculous amount of time to actually get the seasoning out.
But a clever woman has shared her nifty trick and the post was uploaded by the ‘Today Years Old’ account on X, captioned as: “Why are we only finding this out in 2024?”
The lady featured in the clip claimed that this method is the “proper way to use” salt and pepper shakers.
She is seen pointing to the ridges present at the bottom of the glass shakers and then tilts the pepper shaker downwards.
After, she rubs the base of the salt shaker over the ridges on the pepper shaker, producing a consistent flow of seasoning.
The woman can be heard exclaiming: “See how fast it comes out? Now watch this.”
She then demonstrates how sluggish it is when using the typical shaking technique.
She did the same for the salt shaker as well to prove just how well it worked.
The clip was captioned with the text ‘Mindblown’ and it seemed many of us were.
The clip went viral with over 300k views and hundreds of likes on X, formerly known as Twitter..
People were quick to share their thoughts on the life trick in the comments section and while some were dumbfounded, others weren’t a fan of the hack.
One person wrote: “Really depends on the coarseness of the salt and pepper. Only finely ground sh***y stuff will work.”
Another commented: “The bottoms of S&P shakers are often disgusting. I wouldn’t want to rub them over my food.”
“Guess that’s where you get the term ‘shaker’,” penned a third.
