As part of Fabulous Bingo’s 2023 Win a Makeover competition, we whisked five lucky ladies off to London for a weekend of glamorous pampering.

Leah’s Story
Leah from Portsmouth tended to favour black and white “big and baggy” clothes but liked the idea of bold colours.
While Leah loves fashion, she confessed to not being experimental.
Luckily, our expert stylist, Nick Ede, was on hand to guide Leah through which clothes styles best suited her and would bring out the lovely colour of her eyes.
Leah admitted “I’d never pick this [outfit] out for myself” but was very happy with the result.
She was most looking forward to the hair styling portion of the day, wanting a new look that was higher and coppery without becoming brassy.

Liann’s Story
Liann from Askam-in-Furness didn’t have many requests for her new look, confessing that she doesn’t go to the hairdressers, preferring to cut her own hair by following YouTube tutorials!
Liann was nervous about the day, as she doesn’t usually wear makeup, “maybe twice a year, if you’re lucky”.
Working full time and coming from a small village, Liann doesn’t have many opportunities to enjoy a night out.
All of this meant that Liann was truly putting herself into the hands of our glam squad, and it paid off!
Liann looked amazing, and more importantly, had a brilliant day.
“You’ve got to get out of your comfort zone so I thought ‘I’ll try it’ but I love it.”

Pauline’s Story
Pauline from Scotland was excited for her pamper day.
She wasn’t sure what look she’d go for but knew that she wanted “something new, something different”.
Pauline described herself as not being a glamorous person, preferring clothes that are comfy and easy to wear around the house.
Pauline said that she wouldn’t be afraid to say “no” to any styles that she didn’t like.
However, that didn’t stop her from walking away looking fantastic with a new hairdo, makeup and two outfits (one for the day and one for evenings).
Not wanting to waste her fresh style, Pauline was planning a night on the town.
She had a brilliant day and we loved to see her transformation!

Shiela’s Story
Shiela from Staffordshire was very excited for her weekend treats, keen on any makeup that would hide her wrinkles, sorry, laughter lines.
She didn’t usually wear eyeshadow and was keen to avoid anything blue… no offence to our celebrity host Anthony Costa!
Shiela also wanted to steer away from dresses or anything with a flowery print.
As she said, “it’s pointless being in my wardrobe and not wearing it. I want to go with something that I’ll wear”.
Shiela discussed how she wanted shoes she can dance in, as she has a bit of a reputation for being on the dancefloor until the small hours!
Thankfully, there were some fabulous flats for her. Shiela said “I love it… I can dance for even longer now”.

Sol’s Story
Sol from Canning Town was another of our winners who didn’t go to the hairdressers, preferring to cut her own locks.
Sol knew that she wanted to keep her hair longer, preferring that to a shorter do.
However, she was quite flexible on all of the other elements of her makeover, given that she has quite a broad style.
Sol enjoyed changing up her look, going from chic to ghetto, with a love of animal print and high heels.
Sol was left feeling “a bit elegant” by the end of her makeover experience.
There was a night out on the cards, and Sol already had the perfect outfit on.

Win a Fashion Makeover
Would you like to be one of our fabulous winners? We could be sharing your story next.
Here’s exactly what awaits our 2024 winners:
- Two nights’ accommodation in London for two people.
- Breakfast and dinner at the hotel (dinner will be pre-paid for two people up to £50 per night – any additional costs raised at the hotel will be charged to the winner via the hotel).
- A fashion makeover consisting of hair, makeup and a facial.
- Two styled outfits, consisting of one daywear and one eveningwear. The winners will be able to take these home with them.
- £300 in shopping voucher to go and pick some more outfits based on stylists’ recommendations.
- Two theatre tickets so that our winners can take their new looks out on the town.

We’re putting on special bingo sessions where the ultimate prize each week is winning a spot in our fashion makeover weekend experience.
Players can get involved by opting in and qualifying. You can do this by either staking £15 on bingo during the week, or, staking £50 on slot games.
OUR PARIS ROOM IS A HIDDEN GEM
Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to play in the next Fashion Makeover bingo session!
