All about new face-changing Botox trend that’s not for fighting wrinkles – injector reveals which stars have done it
BOTOX has long been the go-to wrinkle-busting treatment for stars desperate for a quick skin-smoothing solution.
According to an aesthetician, many are now packing Botox into their jaws every three months, with the injectable doing more to their faces than people think.
Chrissy Teigen (seen here in May) has admitted to using masseter Botox, and her jawline looks more contoured, according to nurse practitioner Jackie Spagnuolo[/caption] Masseter Botox can make a jawline look thinner, more oval, heart-shaped, or V-shaped (as seen here with Angelina Jolie photographed in June), said an expert[/caption]Celebrities typically use plastic surgery to hone their bodies, tighten their skin, and contour their faces.
Now, some dermatologists and surgeons inject Botox into the masseter muscles on each side of the face.
Aesthetic nurse practitioner Jackie Spagnuolo of Beauty Nurse NYC claims that wanting a “slimmed-down face” using masseter Botox has eclipsed people looking to smooth their skin.
“This new trend is about facial slimming down and contouring with Botox in the jaw area,” she told The U.S. Sun.
“Masseter Botox can soften the appearance of a square jawline.
“It can make the jawline look thinner, more oval, heart-shaped, or V-shaped.
“It used to be all about Botox for skin wrinkles around the eyes, with the results only lasting 3 to 6 months.
“Now celebrities want contoured, slim jawlines and can choose different shapes and angles that suit them with masseter Botox.”
The large masseter jaw muscle is for chewing and sits between the temporal bone and the lower jaw.
Botox is injected into the area, temporarily weakening and paralyzing movement — and Spagnuolo thinks stars like Chrissy Teigen and the Kardashians could have jumped on the bandwagon.
CONTOURED CHRISSY
Chrissy Teigen, 38, revealed she started using Botox in her armpits to stop sweating.
After giving birth to her third child, the model also used Botox for headaches.
“Jaw Botox for my grinding was a MUST for my regular headaches,” Chrissy wrote on X in 2020.
We can see Chrissy had a heavier jawline and now is contoured.

“You can also do behind the brow for migraines,” she said.
“Chrissy has publicly shared that she has had masseter Botox,” said Spagnuolo, who runs an aesthetic training academy.
“The results are visible through her slimmer jawline.
Chrissy (seen here in 2013) used to have a heavier jawline, said an expert[/caption]“She first mentioned getting it for relief from teeth grinding and for cosmetic reasons.
“Chrissy expressed positive feedback, appreciating both the functional and aesthetic benefits.

CHEEKY KIM
Kim Kardashian, 43, started Botox injections when she was 29.
“I’m totally not against plastic surgery,” she told Cynthia McFadden on Nightline in 2010.
“I’ve tried Botox before. That’s the only thing that I’ve done,” she added.
“But I’ve chilled, actually,” she said of her Botox routine in 2022.
“No filler. Never filled either one, ever,” she told Allure.
Kim Kardashian (seen in 2001) used to have a less refined jawline, said Jackie Spagnuolo[/caption] An aesthetician told The U.S. Sun that Kim likely achieved a less square jaw over time from using masseter Botox[/caption]“Kim Kardashian’s jawline has become much more refined,” said Spagnuolo.
“She has become less square over time, which suggests Kim has been using masseter Botox.
“She likely used Botox there and, like Chrissy, to achieve a more contoured face and cheeks and for cosmetic reasons.
“We can mainly see these changes over the last few years.
“Kim could have used masseter Botox to slim her face down as well.”
SLIM CHANCE
Kourtney Kardashian, 45, has never admitted to using Botox.
Yet an Instagram follower insisted that she must have had plastic surgery.
“Botox, nose job, and some sort of butt lift or BBL [Brazilian butt lift] just to start,” they wrote in a post in 2021.
“No better compliment than a too good to be real kind of compliment,” the Hulu star responded.
Kourtney also told of a facial procedure in 2022 but in a now-deleted Instagram post.
“I’m here doing my Le Visage Lift Contour,” she said in a clip as a tool was placed on her face for “ lifting and contouring.”
Kourtney Kardashian (seen here in 2022) has not admitted to using masseter Botox[/caption] Kourtney (seen here in March) has probably slimmed down her jawline and face using masseter Botox, according to an expert[/caption]“Like Kim, Kourtney’s jawline has started to look slimmer and much more defined,” said Spagnuolo.
“She would have had it likely for aesthetic reasons but has not admitted publicly to getting masseter Botox specifically.”
CARDI’S SCULPT
Cardi B, 31, has been open about her face and body transformation and turning to plastic surgery for the odd nip/tuck.
The rapper has had a BBL but later removed the injectables.
She has also had several boob jobs after the birth of her daughter, Kulture, in 2019.
An aesthetic nurse practitioner told The U.S. Sun that Cardi B’s jawline looks more sculpted than ever[/caption]“Cardi B’s jawline looks more sculpted than ever,” said Spagnuolo.
“This indicates masseter Botox use.
“She has used Botox for cosmetic enhancements.”
TRANSFORM HER
Angelina Jolie, 49, has never admitted to plastic surgery or using any injectables.
This is despite the Lara Croft star’s gradually transformed face and jaw.
“I haven’t had anything done and I don’t think I will… I don’t plan to do it myself,” she told The Daily Mail in 2010.
“But if it makes somebody happy then that’s up to them. I’m not in somebody else’s skin to know what makes them feel better about themselves. But I don’t plan to do it myself,” she added.
Angelina (seen here in 1997) may have used masseter Botox for functional and aesthetic reasons, according to an expert[/caption]“Angelina Jolie’s jawline has maintained a refined appearance, suggesting possible use of masseter Botox,” said Spagnuolo.
“She could have had this done for both functional and aesthetic reasons.”
At $800 a pop, masseter Botox was initially used to help with clenching and teeth grinding.
Excessive use can lead to the weakening of the chewing motion so people can’t chew food properly.

The treatment is new, so the medical industry has not determined if masseter Botox is safe to use long-term.
The FDA has not approved Botox for use in this way.
CHEW IT OVER
Some professionals warn against overuse, and Spagnula claimed there could be complications.
“Botox injected into the masseter muscle can impact chewing, especially if too much is injected,” she added.
“Over injection, even slightly, would make it hard to chew tough foods.
“Some might experience a different bite or drinking action.
“Excessive use can weaken the chewing motion, so people can’t chew food properly.
“It is crucial to inject the right amount to avoid impairing the muscle’s function.”
