Giovanni Pernice’s Love Island star ex signs up for Strictly after he quits show
DEAF Love Island star Tasha Ghouri is the latest dazzling signing for Strictly Come Dancing.
The model is a dancer by trade so bosses are convinced she’ll become a firm favourite of viewers who love to see show stopping performances from the off – like last year’s finalist Layton Williams.
But, ironically, it’s her love life that will be of focus – because she once reportedly dated under fire dancer Giovanni Pernice.
The pair shared a few dinners before she joined ITV2’s dating show in the summer of 2022.
The Sicilian dancer had just lifted the Glitterball trophy with Rose Ayling-Ellis and was at the prime of his TV career.
Tasha is still loved-up with her villa boyfriend Andrew Le Page two years on.
A source said: “Tasha has everything it takes to be a top drawer Strictly signing.
“Whilst fans who like a journey will be irked she is a professional dancer, others who enjoy watching incredible moments from the off will be more than satisfied.
“She’s also become a powerful force for good campaigning and raising awareness for those with disabilities.
“The Giovanni link is unfortunate to say the least, but above all else Tasha is a gorgeous girl who deserves this amazing opportunity.”
Tasha, who has modelled for online giant ASOS, was born completely deaf and had a cochlear implant aged five.
But she says her disability is her “superpower” and has become an inspiration to many.
As well as her own podcast Superpowers with Tasha, the model had just released her first novel.
Details of her history with Giovanni were revealed after she had been named as part of Love Island’s 2022 cast.
It was reported that Gio and Tasha connected via Instagram and messaged for months before he wined and dined her in January 2022.
Their fling was said to have fizzled out due to him being on the Strictly tour.
Tasha has danced in pop videos for the likes of chart star MNEK so may face a backlash over her clear advantage.
