I’m 51 and age my face backwards with make-up – my hero £8 L’Oréal buy can literally take years off your eyes
AT 51-years-old, Kat James prefers to be called an educator rather than an influencer.
That’s because she teaches other women with mature skin how to apply make-up in a way that shaves years off their face.
Kat, 51, doesn’t want women with mature skin to shy away from eyeliner[/caption] “A big makeup misconception is that more mature eyes should avoid eyeliner,” she tells Fabulous[/caption]And one thing Kat is particularly passionate about is eyeliner.
“A big makeup misconception is that more mature eyes should avoid eyeliner,” she tells Fabulous.
“The truth is, when used properly, eyeliner can help achieve a more youthful appearance.”
But how should one apply eyeliner – and what products should we use – when looking to shave off a good few optic years?
“A great tip is to skip a traditional eyeliner and try a shadow stick for lining,” Kat shared.
“These formulas are made to be blended more easily.
“Using a taupe or soft brown shade on both upper and lower eyelids will give your eyes definition, without a harsh appearance.
“Bobbi Brown Cosmetics makes great shadow sticks that are perfect for this technique.
“Next, using a highlight eye pencil on the waterline, can open and brighten the eye.
“But it’s best to avoid the bright white pencils as they tend to look too stark on a mature eye.
“Instead opt for a more milky, champagne toned pencil.”
Kat swears by a £7.99 Boots buy to achieve this look, too.
She loves the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Grip Mechanical Gel Eyeliner Pencil in shade Bright Nude.
The make-up brand said the pencil is its “first semi-permanent eyeliner inspired by adhesive technologies”.
How to reverse ageing in just 2 weeks, according to royal go-to nutritionist
LONDON -based Gabriela Peacock, who has helped the likes of Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie prepare for their weddings.
She told Fabulous: “The science is evident that we all have the power to make simple life changing alterations to better our future selves – no matter what genetic hand we might have been dealt with.
“The reality is, we all sometimes indulge in unhealthy eating habits like processed foods, smoking cigarettes, drinking too much alcohol, inhaling city pollutants, and even drinking water from plastic bottles – none of this is good for us.
“All this does is promote the ageing process, but we all have the potential to change this.”
It may be hard, but try to keep away from sugary carbohydrates, because they feed chronic inflammation, which is one of the worst enemies of reversing ageing.
Now only will you end up putting on weight if you consume them regularly, but your energy and hormonal levels will be affected and this will influence how you look and feel.
Whatever your age or state of health, it’s never too late to reverse how quickly you are ageing and embrace the energy and vigour of a younger you.
Antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E, are essential in neutralising free radicals—the culprits behind premature ageing.
Integrating a spectrum of colourful fruits and vegetables into your diet provides a potent source of antioxidants.
Omega-3 fatty acids, abundant in fatty fish like salmon and flaxseeds, are vital for maintaining skin elasticity and hydration.
Omega-3s act as nourishment for your skin, locking in moisture and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.
Collagen, a structural protein dwindling with age, can be replenished through collagen-rich foods like bone broth and lean protein sources.
“It has an easy glide formula that once dry, transforms into self-gripping strokes for a look that does smudge for up to 36 hours,” bosses said.
“So, you can create sharp lines or smudged lines and once dry it will not transfer.”
Kat also shared a tutorial for applying eyeliner on her TikTok profile, which you can watch at the top of this page.
