Moment rioting thug goading cops with ‘I pay your wages’ claim is bitten by police dog & has shorts pulled down
THIS is the moment a thug seen goading riot police is bitten by a police dog before having his shorts pulled down.
Footage shows the moment the overconfident man is seen shouting at officers telling them “I pay your wages” as riots broke out in Hartlepool earlier this week.
The man – surrounded by his pals – was left embarrassed as the dog grabbed onto his shorts as he frantically tried to run away.
Video shows Steven Mailen, 54 and Ryan Sheers, 28, approaching riot police and refusing to stay away from the officers despite being warned several times.
The men were later hauled into court and each admitted a single charge of violent disorder at Teesside Magistrates’ Court.
Sheers, who was seen crying during his hearing, was the man bitten on the hip by the police dog.
He was seen vocally abusing the cops and shouting in their faces by screaming: “Don’t touch me. Don’t touch me. I pay your wages.”
During the verbal altercation Sheers can be seen waving around his arms as he speaks to the cops.
One officer brings his barking dog towards the former McDonald’s employee to make him move away but Sheers continue to shout.
The dog then starts jumping up before he is told to go at the man by his handler to prevent any further escalation.
Sheers was caught on his hip by the police dog before having his shorts dragged down his legs, the video shows.
Onlookers could be heard laughing as Sheers struggled to run away from the dog.
The second protester, Mailen, was described as being “constantly in the face of officers” in court.
The footage shows the 54-year-old making crude gestures towards the line of cops and repeatedly trying to break through the barricade.
Moments before the dog delivers the slice of karma, Mailen is hit in the leg by a baton and sent falling backwards clutching his thigh.
Five other defendants were also seen in custody and appeared in the same court with the two men in the video.
Prosecutor Paul Doney said around 200 people were gathered in Hartlepool town centre on Wednesday with police being deployed to maintain order.
An 11-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of arson after a police car was set alight during the violence.
Riots have erupted across the UK since three young children were murdered in a horror stabbing in Southport on Monday.
Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, Bebe King, six, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar were all killed in the attack.
Tonight, hundreds of people have gathered in Sunderland city centre causing chaos and wrecking the streets.
Footage of thugs in balaclavas and hoods squaring up to cops and lobbing flares, horse manure and beer cans has also been seen.
Glass could be heard smashing behind giant plumes of smoke after Sunderland and Central Police station was torched by violent yobs as darkness fell.
Thugs ransacked the station as firefighters worked amid carnage to dampen the flames.
In other terrifying scenes an army of rioters lashed out at an Uber taxi with the driver still inside, sending him fleeing for safety before thugs flipped and torched it.
One shirtless thug in the crowd had visible Nazi swastika tattoos on his back.
Rioters can be heard yelling racist slurs and far-right chants in chilling footage.
Mounted cops have joined riot police and tear gas has reportedly been fired at the crowd.
Shoppers have reportedly been forced to hide in a nearby Aldi as the riot escalates.
On Wednesday more than 100 people were arrested at a similar stand-off outside Downing Street.
Horror footage showed the violent clash at its peak – with cops in riot suits battling to hold the masses at bay.
Bricks and bottles were lobbed at the police, as they fought to push the crowds back.
Cleveland Police confirmed yesterday that eleven people have been arrested for various offences including public order and affray.

IN moments of crisis and tragedy, it’s second nature for us to go on to social media to look for the latest information.
After we heard the first shocking reports that children had been stabbed in Southport, we went to social media to try and find out the truth – who did this and why?
But the problem with our reliance on social media as a source of information is that all platforms are designed in ways that show us lies first and the truth last.
Journalists working for a newspaper or broadcaster try to tell us what they can prove, which can be unclear in the immediate wake of a tragedy.
Social media platforms, instead, look at how much engagement their posts get.
That’s because they don’t actually care about the value to society of that information, rather the value to them.
Before anyone could report the truth in Stockport, selfish and cynical losers were using social media to exploit this tragedy and push hateful lies.
With zero evidence, they claimed that Muslims were behind the attack and that the police were hiding the truth.
And they know that the more outrageous the lie, the more people will see it.
The consequences were plain to see, as gangs of thugs descended on Southport, shamefully using the deaths of three young girls to whip up hate and attack the police.
Let’s be clear, social media companies are to blame. They let people break their rules with impunity.
The reason they do this is simple: hate and lies are big business for social media.
That’s how the truth loses, and the lies of extremists and weirdos enter the mainstream.
Social media companies pretend this is complicated, but the basic solutions are simple.
First, we need to force these companies to come clean on how their algorithms boost dangerous lies.
Second, we need to hold them accountable with fines and penalties.
American social media giants are to blame for this chaos. It’s them, not the people of Southport, who should be paying for the cleanup and coppers’ medical bills.
The mum of victim Elsie Stancombe has condemned the riots and urged protesters to stop.
Jenni Stancombe said: “This is the only thing that I will write, but please stop the violence in Southport tonight.
“The police have been nothing but heroic these last 24 hours and they and we don’t need this.”
Director of Public Prosecutions Stephen Parkinson said: “We take the recent incidents of violent disorder extremely seriously.”
Axel Muganwa Rudakubana was yesterday named as the teen charged over the knife attack in the Merseyside town.
Rudakubana was unmasked after a judge lifted reporting restrictions just days before his 18th birthday.
Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar were knifed to death in the mass stabbing in Southport.
Eight other children suffered stab wounds in the horror, with five in a stable condition in hospital along with two adults.
Rudakubana, 17, rocked back and forth in the dock as he appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today charged with three counts of murder.
He is also accused of ten counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article – a curved kitchen knife used in the attack.
The prosecution said he had an “autism spectrum disorder diagnosis” and had been “unwilling to leave the house and communicate with family for a period of time”.
