Meet Anthony Ammirati, the well-endowed Olympics pole vaulter who went viral when his willy knocked the bar off
ANTHONY AMMIRATI is more than just a viral pole vaulting sensation that has sent social media into a frenzy following an unfortunate moment at the Paris Olympics.
The French athlete, 21, knocked the pole off with his bulge in a rather embarrassing moment on Saturday.
Anthony Ammirati suffered disappointment at his home Olympic Games on Saturday[/caption]Due to the error, he finished 12th in his group and failed to progress through to the final.
But Ammirati is an incredibly exciting young talent with a huge amount of promise.
He first came on the scene three years ago in Salon-de-Provence when he set a new Under-20 national record by clearing 5.72 metres.
One month later, he then jumped 5.64m to claim gold at the U20 European Championships.
After improving by one centimetre to scoop the U20 world title, he broke the French junior pole vault record with 5.81m in August 2022.
To this day that remains the biggest height he has cleared.
But it means failing to clear 5.70m in Paris will have come as a major disappointment.
Ahead of the Games, Ammirati posted: “Safely arrived at the Olympic village :).

“Can’t wait to jump with the encouragement of the French audience .”
But unfortunately for Ammirati, his Olympic Games came to an end before they really got going as his appendage clipped the bar and prevented him from advancing.
Outside of pole vault, he has shared various posts to his Instagram – where he now has nearly 28,000 followers.
They include a topless holiday photo from the summer of 2022 where he took a trip to Colombia, while he was also seen paddleboarding in southern France in July of the same year.
He also revealed in February 2023 that he had become a reserve police officer.
Alongside a picture of him receiving his certificate, he said: “Glad to start this new journey with the @policenationale team as a reserve police officer .
“Thanks to the Director General of National Police for the visit .
“As you can see I’m already an elite shooter ;).”
Ammirati has also shared images of himself as a young boy before his pole vaulting career took off.
One shows him as a kid grinning from ear to ear while sitting on the floor in a jacket, trousers and velcro trainers.
