I’m a savvy bride & bagged wedding dress for £50 on Temu, with small tweaks it’s ‘couture on a budget’
A SAVVY bride has revealed she saved thousands on her big day by buying her wedding dress on Temu – and insists the quality is just as good as bridal shops.
Klaudia refused to spend thousands of pounds to find her perfect frock.
Instead, she bagged TWO dresses for £100 from the online retailer that fitted her perfectly – well below the UK average spend of £1,300 on a wedding dress.
As a savvy shopper, the bride-to-be made small alterations to her off-the-shoulder frock to create a personalised ‘couture wedding dress’ at an affordable price.
She said: “I didn’t want to spend thousands on a dress that I would only wear once.
“Using Temu really took the stress out with its far friendlier prices.
“I was really impressed with the quality, and the materials did not differ from the thousand-pound dresses from bridal shops.”
Klaudia also chose Temu for her bouquets, boutonnieres, centre piece decorations and bridesmaid dresses for the special day.
And she saved so much money that she was able to pay for her dream honeymoon in Hawaii.
She was quoted up to £500 by several florists for bouquets alone.
By going with dried flowers on Temu she reduced the cost to just £250 – and this included flowers for the centre pieces too.
She also found great deals on the platform for her bridesmaid dresses, spending just £200 for all four.
“You can buy so much on Temu – from bridal lingerie, to shoes, hair accessories, wedding favours and bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts”, she gushed.
“Weddings are so expensive, so saving where you can is going to make a massive difference.
“Because we saved on those things, we were able to upgrade our honeymoon, so now we are going to Hawaii.”
Budget weddings
The biggest day of your life can actually be budget-friendly, according to celebrity wedding dress designer Pnina Tornai.
Tornai, who has created bridal designs and bling for stars such as Amber Rose, revealed where you can save money while still shining.
“At the end of the day, everyone talks about how the bride looked and what she wore,” she said.
“So I recommend investing in hair, makeup, and of course your dream dress!”
But if you do splurge on shoes, you might want to select a gown with a slit to show them off. You can also be practical by choosing nude heels that you can re-wear.
And brides on a budget should opt for a dress without customisations. A lace-up corset back will save you big bucks on alterations in case your weight fluctuates before the big day.
How to pick the perfect wedding dress

- Give yourself time – unless you’re a sample size, dresses can take months to even arrive. Don’t stress yourself out by looking too late, in my opinion dress shopping should be the second thing on your list, right after finding a venue.
- Visit multiple shops – you don’t want to be buying on your first visit.
- But not too many – like a f***boy who can’t stop swiping on Tinder, having too much choice isn’t going to help you find The One.
- Take people with you – women who will be honest but also hype you up, unlike the mean relatives on Say Yes To The Dress, and ideally people from different areas of your life who won’t automatically say the same thing. I shopped with my mum and two best friends, who didn’t know each other and had different styles.
- Think it over – I returned to the shop before making my final decision on the dress I chose, re-trying it with my second favourite to make sure I was certain. It’s an expensive purchase, and you can’t send it back like you might your next Asos order, so take time to mull it over.
