My Mum, Your Dad fans spot TWO huge problems with new series after cast is revealed
MY Mum, Your Dad fans have pointed our two major issues with the upcoming second series of the ITV show.
Last year’s debut quickly became a national phenomenon as new fans tuned in to watch middle-aged single parents find love under the watchful eyes of their kids.
My Mum, Your Dad’s series two cast has been revealed[/caption] Davina McCall will be back as host[/caption]The 2024 cast was revealed yesterday and Davina McCall will once again host the programme.
But many people are already questioning how series two is going to work when those involved likely watched or were at least aware of the first season and its surprises.
One person commented on the cast reveal: “Super excited for this, BUT how do you do it now the surprise is uncovered?”
Another said: “Not going to spoil it for you but with the first series aired the whole nation that watched it knows the concept/secret.”
A third wrote: “Can’t wait, but hope there’s a new twist somewhere along the way. I’m sure there will be.”
Others accused producers of dropping the ball when it came to casting people of differing body types.
One person posted: “People within the BMI range again I see, this is discriminating as per usual.”
Another agreed, writing: “I say the same thing about Love Island too, thought this would be a bit more inclusive seeing as it’s for older people! It would be lovely to see a size 16 or size 18 girl. Bigger people are looking for love too.”
But others hit back and defended the show’s choices.
A supporter responded: “How dare they put healthy people on a TV program and not promote obesity.”
Last series, the ‘winners’ who found love were Natalie and Paul, Sharon and Elliott and Roger and Janey, who all got the seal of approval from their children.
However, only Roger and Janey are still together with the other two couples splitting late last year.
The new trailer opens with a shot of the mansion and Davina’s voice saying: “This autumn, there’s something in the air… as a new set of single parents search for love.”
She is then seen telling the contestants’ kids: “It’s up to you to decide who dates who.”
Davina’s voiceover continues: “And another chance to feel the flutters.

“My mum your dad coming soon to ITV1 and ITVX.”
A clip then shows single mum Clare getting stuck into a pottery session, with daughter Aimee bursting into fits of giggles.
Off camera, the mum describes her love language and says: “My love language is physical touch so someone that’s cuddly and tactile that makes me laugh and who’s a warm and kind person.”
Malachi, whose mum is Jenny, is seen bursting into tears as he is comforted by the group, before a voice is heard saying: “I did not see this coming.”
Vicky and her daughter Angharad appear “twin-like” in their promo snaps.
Hinting she’s picked the bad boys in the past, the glam mum says: “I’ve been having no luck in trying to find someone myself.

Christian: “I think the biggest thing they’ll learn is that I put on a shield of jovial and lightheartedness but underneath I’m sensitive. I don’t let people see that usually.”
David: “I’m looking for a strong, independent woman. I need somebody whereby we feed off of each other, who matches the qualities that I’ve got!”
Maria: “There’s no time pressure now and you get to that age where you think why would I want to put up with somebody that gets on my nerves? I don’t have to!”
Andy: “Ideally, I’m looking for someone who will engage with me mentally, appeals to me physically and is there for me emotionally!”
Clare: “My love language is physical touch so someone that’s cuddly and tactile that makes me laugh and who’s a warm and kind person.”
Vicky: “I’ve been having no luck in trying to find someone myself. If there’s a room of people, I always tend to go for the one person I shouldn’t!”
Jenny: “I have exhausted everything, if I couldn’t have got onto My Mum, Your Dad, there was literally nothing left.”
Danny: “I’m hoping to meet someone that likes me. I don’t have to tick boxes. I’m just looking for someone who likes me back.”

Host Davina told The Sun she was thrilled the show had worked after she “manifested” the format for older daters.
She said: “I want to present this show for the rest of my life!
“I love watching love blossom, and it blossomed very organically and very slowly and sweetly.
“I’ve been sent photographs of couples since! I’m not going to tell you how many. But there’s a few.
