“Me and Tristan go head to head,” he said.
Tristan added: “I’d say brotherly love. Healthy competition.
Chris replied: “Yeah, but it started off as pure hatred.”
Despite initially fighting over the same girl, the pair have become firm friends, with Chris insisting: “There’s just a love line between us.
“Now, we’d never let any girls that in the way. We wouldn’t let that happen…”
Tristan also opened up about clashing with dating agent Paul Brunson during the process.
Paul – who described Tristan as the “biggest gameplayer” and “smoothest dater” out of the cast – hit a nerve as he challenged Tristan in their therapy sessions.
Tristan told us: “I think I was accidentally playing games with a lot with girls because I was holding people at arm’s length and then not being honest with my feelings towards them.
“By the end of it, I was very much in tune. I’d been knocked down a few pegs by Paul on many occasions and learnt a lot of lessons.
“So it was definitely a very good way of learning, quite a hard way of learning.
“They really get into you and make you grow quite aggressively and I think you’ve just got to swallow the pill at that point because they are experts.
“The medicine is going to be served whether you take it or not.
“There has been known to be some big egos on TV, myself included…”
Chris agreed, adding: “Yes, and if you’ve got a massive ego and you get told that you’re doing something wrong, you are going to kick off.
“But if you’re a bit less ego-y about it and you take it… Because they aren’t trying to give you genuine advice, they’re trying to help you out, you’ve just got to take it like that.
Tristan added: “Yes, it’s like constructive criticism. I’m more inclined to listen to the agents than a teacher, for sure, but I’ve got an authority complex.”
Celebs Go Dating continues at 9pm tonight on E4.
