I found a secret zoo behind a pub – it’s dead cheap and the perfect place to go with children this summer
IT’S so difficult to plan a fun day out in the school holidays without spending a fortune.
But one woman has claimed to have found a hidden gem in Kent, that’s the perfect place for families to visit.
Sophie took to her TikTok page to share a video of her visit to The Fenn Bell Conservation Project, in Medway, Kent.
“Did you know about this local pub in Kent? It has a zoo out back!” she wrote over the top of the video.
Sophie showed herself heading behind the pub in the video, as they admired the greenery and the animals.
Following their visit to the zoo, they headed into the pub itself for some traditional pub grub – with Sophie opting for chips, chicken nuggets and baked beans.
“Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!” Sophie captioned the video.
“A lovely country pub with a twist…”
The Fenn Bell zoo is open all year round from 10am to 5pm, and costs £6 for children and £6.50 for adults.
You can book in advance online or pay on the day.
And people who had visited the Fenn Bell were quick to praise the cheap and cheerful venue.
“Been here on a date, loved it!” one wrote.
“Really lovely for kids, and staff are so nice,” another added.
“I love it here! Right on my doorstep,” a third said.
“Been there many times – you can feed the animals, it’s a great place for kids and adults love it.”
“I knew the owner Andy when he was at the other farm and he was building enclosures for his first rare animals,” someone else wrote.
As another added: “This is a brilliant place, Andy has done a fantastic job and is totally committed to the animals and giving an amazing experience.
“We all need to support him and his family in their work.”
