Tottenham vs Everton preview
Neither Tottenham or Everton will have been particularly pleased with their starts to the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
Spurs looked to be cruising to a comfortable victory over newly-promoted Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
They were utterly dominant for large portions of the encounter and really should have been out of sight before a lapse in concentration allowed Jamie Vardy to equalise.
Everton also started brightly against Brighton at Goodison Park last weekend before a second-half collapse that saw Ashley Young dismissed and the Seagulls cruise to a 3-0 victory.
Both will be hoping for a big response this weekend, and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou will be particularly eager to get three points on the board ahead of games against Newcastle and Arsenal to come in the coming weeks.
And they’ll fancy their chances given Everton are winless away from home this calendar year and have only won ONE of their last 16 visits to Tottenham.
The Toffees are also winless in the month of August since 2021 (L6, D3) and no club has conceded more Premier League goals to Tottenham (102).
To add salt in the wounds, Everton are also without a recognised right-back with Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson injured, and Ashly Young serving the first of his three-match suspension.
When is Tottenham vs Everton?
- Tottenham vs Everton will take place on Saturday, August 24
- It is scheduled to kick off at 15:00pm BST.
- The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host Saturday’s showdown
What TV channel is it on can it be live streamed?
- Unfortunately Tottenham vs Everton will NOT be broadcast live on TV in the UK. This is due to the Saturday, 3pm football blackout rule.
- However, SunSport will have minute-by-minute text coverage of Saturday’s 3pm fixtures
What is the team news?
Ange Postecoglou will likely be without midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur for Saturday’s clash with Everton.
Bentancur needed extensive medical attention having been carried off on a stretcher after a horror head clash during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at Leicester City.
Meanwhile Yves Bissouma has served an internal ban from the club and will likely return.
Sean Dyche has something of a crisis at right back with Ashley Young (suspension) Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and utility right-back James Garner all out. Jarrad Branthwaite and Youssef Chermiti are also likely to be sidelined.
That could see Mason Holgate brought in as cover, while the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom will hope to make the starting XIs after missing out during the 3-0 loss to Brighton.

Tottenham vs Everton betting tips and predictions
Kulu time
I would be very surprised to see Ange Postecoglou bench Dejan Kulusevski again this weekend. The Australian manager preferred Brennan Johnson for the Leicester game, but he squandered both opportunities.
Kulusevski was brought on with 21 minutes left on the clock and registered more touches in the penalty area than any of his colleagues. The Swede netted three goals in pre-season – including a brace against Bayern Munich in north London.

Richy returns
Richarlison has actually already returned to face his former club on a couple of occasions – and they’ve both gone rather well for him.
The Brazilian scored a brace at Goodison Park the last time these sides met in the Premier League, and once before that in the reverse fixture.
He’s likely to have to settle for a place on the bench behind Dominic Solanke but should get some minutes towards the end against what will likely be a weary Everton defence without Jarrad Branthwaite.
- Richarlison to score last at 4/1 with William Hill – CLAIM HERE
