My skin has been so happy since I introduced my ‘less punishment’ routine – it’s softer & I actually see the improvement
THE reward for being kind to your skin seems to be some rejuvenating results.
A skincare lover has shared how she took time out from her harsh routine in an effort to turn back time.

“More hydration/moisture, less exfoliation – or as I personally like to say, less punishment and more kindness,” she said.
“My skin has been so happy since I stopped making every other step an exfoliating one,” she continued.
Within her ten-step routine, she now incorporates just two exfoliating measures.
“My skin is not only softer and smoother, but I feel like I can actually see the improvement from the few exfoliating steps that I do take,” she said.
The enlightenment she had to eliminate that extra exfoliation really paid off.
“Before it just seemed like nothing was working,” she said.
For the first time, she was getting compliments on her complexion.
It seemed she wasn’t the only one who had experienced an exfoliating-less epiphany.
“Completely agree with this! Only exfoliate once a week and sometimes even that makes my face irritated. Moisturizer is my best friend,” said a Redditor.
There was also one hydrating buy she couldn’t help but hype up – Cosrx Propolis Synergy Toner.
“I will shout this recommendation from the rooftops,” she said.
Another user was also impressed with the face-saving find.
“That stuff’s amazing. In the summer, it’s all I put on before sunscreen. No moisturizer necessary for my combo-oily self,” they said.
If you want to try the skin-boosting buy for yourself, Ulta sells a bottle of Cosrx Propolis Synergy Toner for $22.

Dr. Anatalia Moore is a GP and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.
She told The U.S. Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin journey.
She said the fundamental basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages — it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.
“Moisturizers are my superstar, even over products containing active ingredients,” she said.
“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them in, literally stabilizes your skin.
“This in itself quickly can soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as often these are worsened by dehydration.
“It also allows the skin to function as it should.
“It then can heal faster, which, among many things, can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, less flares of dermatitis and rosacea, and shorter-lived, milder breakouts.”
Dr. Moore’s skincare staples:
- Obagi Hydrate and Hydrate Lux moisturizer, $78
- Adequate sleep
- Balanced diet
- Reducing stress
Yet another had their own tip to share.
“Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel!” they advised.
The exfoliating products she does use are targeted at her problem areas.
For combatting acne, she adds a buy with benzoyl peroxide, while anything that contains AHA or vitamin C helps reduce redness.
“BP is my favorite acne treatment too,” a Redditor agreed.
It was out with exfoliation and in with extra hydration, especially her favorite product, Propopolis Synergy Toner, pictured above[/caption]
