‘Absolute chaos’ people scream as dad wrecks his own gender reveal & gets compared to Wreck it Ralph
A WOMAN has revealed that she planned a posh gender reveal with her boyfriend, but things didn’t go quite to plan.
Morgan Murphy, a blonde beauty and mum-of-one from the UK, went all out for her lavish event, but her partner caused ‘absolute chaos’.
In a clip shared on social media with the caption ‘GENDER REVEAL FAIL!!!!’, the young mother gave her followers a close-up look at the intimate event.
Surrounded by friends and family, Morgan and her partner intended to use a confetti cannon, and a large gold balloon, to reveal the gender of their unborn child.
Morgan, who wore a stunning white outfit for the occasion, was joined by her young daughter and her partner, who rocked a white Burberry t-shirt and jeans.
After a countdown from their loved ones, the trio stood in front of a posh backdrop, with a jaw-dropping pink, blue and cream balloon arch, as well as a ‘BABY’ balloon stack.
But Morgan’s partner was clearly struggling to pop the confetti cannon, and after a couple of seconds, ripped it apart, and hastily threw it on the floor when he spotted blue confetti.
At the same time, Morgan was also struggling to pop her gold balloon, and in the end had to balance it on her leg, to reveal the gender.
Clearly overjoyed at the news, Morgan’s boyfriend immediately ran towards her and gave her a huge hug from behind, with his arms around her neck.
The crowd cheered in excitement at the happy knees, and the couple then tried to open up their balloon box, which also wasn’t as simply done as they had hoped.
Whilst Morgan’s partner couldn’t get the lid off, Morgan also struggled, and almost tipped it over, but eventually, blue balloons appeared.
Despite the ‘fail’, Morgan then wrote: “But we’re getting our boy and our family is complete.”
BIG DIVIDE
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @morganmurphy400, has clearly left many open-mouthed, has quickly gone viral and racked up a jaw-dropping one million views.
But social media users were left totally divided by the event.

What’s the Deal with Gender Reveals & Why is Everyone Having Them?
What Is A Gender Reveal?
Gender reveal parties are celebrations where expectant parents announce the sex of their baby in a creative and often dramatic way.
These events have gained significant popularity, especially through social media.
The trend began in the late 2000s and has since exploded in popularity.
The concept was popularised by parents who wanted to share their excitement with family and friends in a memorable and engaging way.
Common Methods:
- Cakes: Cutting a cake filled with either blue or pink filling.
- Balloons: Popping a balloon to release colored confetti.
- Smoke Bombs: Releasing colored smoke.
- Piñatas: Breaking a piñata to reveal colored candies or confetti.
- Fireworks: Using fireworks to display blue or pink colors.
Why Are They So Popular?
- Social Media Influence: Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube have amplified the trend, with many parents posting videos and photos that go viral.
- Milestone Celebration: It’s an additional way for parents to celebrate a significant milestone during pregnancy.
- Creativity: These events offer an outlet for parents to be creative and personalize their announcement.
- Community Sharing: They provide an opportunity to include extended family and friends in the pregnancy journey.
Controversies:
- Safety Concerns: Some gender reveal methods have led to accidents and even wildfires.
- Environmental Impact: The use of non-biodegradable materials and fireworks can have environmental consequences.
- Inclusivity: There’s growing awareness and sensitivity towards non-binary and transgender identities, leading to criticism that these events can be exclusionary.
Despite the controversies, gender reveal parties continue to evolve.
Some parents are opting for more eco-friendly and inclusive ways to celebrate, while others are choosing to forgo the tradition altogether.
In summary, gender reveals are a modern trend driven by social media, creativity, and the desire to celebrate milestones.
However, they also come with their share of controversies, prompting some to reconsider how they choose to share their baby news.
Another added: “Absolute chaos.”
A third commented: “This is quite strange behaviour. Cringe and tasteless.”

One of the most recent jaw-dropping gender reveals happened in May 2024, when a couple decided to DYE a waterfall to reveal if they were having a boy or girl.
After the videos circulated on the social media, the public demanded for the couple to be punished, with some suggesting they should go to jail.
Others were concerned about water contamination, as the pair had used a powdered chemical known as “Blue Lagoon” into the Queima-Pe River, which feeds the waterfall.
To this, Morgan clapped back and penned: “Not for me he isn’t.”
Despite this, at the same time, one woman beamed: “I don’t get the comments, he’s just like an excited Golden Retriever. We need more energy like this.”
A second chimed in: “Congratulations to you all love, ignore the nasty comments.”
Another agreed: “Some of these comments are vile… massive congratulations to you all. I love this video and how excited he is, so happy for you both.”
Whilst a fourth expressed: “Such a bizarre comment section. He’s clearly thrilled to bits. Congratulations and all the best.”
