My $5 Trader Joe’s skincare buy literally de-aged my hands – I’m Benjamin Button-ing, I wish it wasn’t so hard to get
GETTING her hands on a product that reverses the signs of aging hasn’t been easy for one beauty enthusiast.
Her must-have beauty buy, which costs just $4.99, surprisingly isn’t marketed as an anti-aging cream.
A Reddit user has revealed the affordable skincare product that rejuvenated her hands (stock image)[/caption]She shared a photo of the skincare product on Reddit’s Trader Joe’s forum, which has over 330,000 members.
“This lotion literally de-aged my hands,” she said, writing under the handle FakeGirlfriend.
“I’m Benjamin Button’ing.”
AGE-DEFYING BUY
The photo showed Trader Joe’s Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream, which costs $4.99.
According to the brand, it’s formulated with several ingredients known to be beneficial for skin such as shea butter, coconut oil, and hemp seed oil.
The hydrating and softening cream is described as having a “fresh” scent and luxurious feel.
HONEST OPINION
The Redditor raved that the product doesn’t leave hands feeling greasy and said the scent is mild.
However, she complained about having difficulties with replacing it when it ran out.
“Just picked this up last night. It works very well,” a commenter said.
“I’ll be getting a few more tubes of this to stash at work, etc.”
“I wish I could. I live in Canada, so I only get to enjoy TJ like twice a year!” the Redditor replied.
STOCKING UP
Many responses to the thread thanked her for sharing the cream while others revealed they’ve also been using it.
“I just started this the other day and I agree! It’s amazing, especially for the price,” one person said.
“Love this hand cream! I stopped spending $23 on Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand salve once I discovered this,” another commented.
“This is amazing stuff and I plan on getting several more tubes to stash around the house,” a third wrote.
Another said Trader Joe’s Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream is a dupe of L’Occitane shea butter, which costs $40 on the brand’s website.
“It smells pretty similar, but TJ’s version is much much lighter in my experience,” they said.
“I prefer TJ’s version. It absorbs faster too.”
The comparison comes after another Redditor said the two products have “similar” packaging and scent.
They added that Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen is a dupe for the Unseen Sunscreen from Supergoop for a “fraction of the price.”
