Where are The Inbetweeners girls now? From reality royalty to soap stardom as iconic show is set for surprise comeback
IT was the teen comedy that the nation fell in love with when it first debuted back in 2008.
And fans have been crying out for a reunion ever since the final incarnation of the franchise back in 2014.
Yet comedy fans around the world were left delighted when it was revealed that the four lads – Simon, Will, Jay, Neil – would be getting back together once more for a shock comeback.
The Sun recently told how Joe Thomas, 40, who played Simon, said all the main cast would be keen to get back together a decade on from the last movie.
The actor indicated another film is likelier than a new TV series, and would see the lads far removed from school — where the characters were when the Channel 4 sitcom began in 2008.
But alongside the lads were the equally as notable girls. But will any of them be back for the brand new flick and what have they been up to since the hit comedy show…
Emily Atack
She has become a household name[/caption]Arguably the most famous star to come out of the hit comedy series is not even one of the four lads.
The 34-year-old has been a mainstay on TV screens and in magazines since her time on the show having enjoyed a slew of acting, reality TV and even presenting roles.
Shortly after the series drew to a close, Emily was signed up for ITV skating show Dancing on Ice.
Not shy of a reality show or two, she also had an impressive stint Down Under when she became a runner-up on I’m A Celebrity back in 2018.
Since 2020, she has been the star of her own comedy show The Emily Atack Show and recently became a first-time mum when she welcomed a baby, Barney James, with her partner, Alistair Garner.
Over the years, Emily has been linked to many famous men before she settled down with Alistair.
Some of her exes include embattled Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice, boxer Charlie Edwards, One Direction star Harry Styles and comedian Seann Walsh.
Emily Head
Emily played the role of Carli[/caption] Her acting career has flourished since the show[/caption]Two famous Emily’s sprung from the hit E4 comedy with actress Emily Head making a name for herself on the programme as Simon’s love interest, Carli D’Amato.
Daughter of the actor Anthony Head, Emily has bagged a fleet of impressive roles since her time on the innuendo-filled comedy show.
Away from the comedy, Emily is most well known for her time in ITV soap opera Emmerdale.
She appeared as Rebecca White for two years and found herself involved in a slew of hard-hitting plot lines.
Rebecca was left with a brain injury after being caught up in a huge car crash with her family that claimed the lives of her sister and father.
Elsewhere, Emily more recently appeared in top BBC drama The Syndicate in the main role of Colette Andrews.
Jayne Wisener
Jayne was a feisty one on the show[/caption] Her brief role became one of the show’s most popular[/caption]Aged just 22 at the time of her stint on the show, Jayne became famous for appearing in the iconic “fiesty one you are” episode of the show.
In the often-quoted episode, Will finds himself falling for Jayne’s character Lauren Harris – even though she has the hots for his best mate Simon.
While sitting at lunch, Lauren starts taking a bigger interest in Simon, causing Will to make a desperate attempt to turn her head – by doing an awkwardly bad impression of Star Wars’ Yoda.
‘Feisty one, you are,’ he tells her repeatedly.
Whilst she has had a handful of roles since then, it was that cameo that has become one of the most defining moments of her career.
Speaking to London Beautiful Life, Jayne – who lives in County Antrim in Northern Ireland, said she was surprised that episode had become a ‘cult classic’.
She said: “When I landed the role in The Inbetweeners I was so, so delighted with myself.
“I didn’t quite expect it to be the cult classic it has now become and years later there are generations later coming up to me saying ‘feisty one you are and I am like ‘ok’…It is mad, mad.”
Jayne, 37, also had a star turn as Johnny Depp’s daughter in 2007 film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, as well as appearances on the West End stage and is now a married mum-of two.
Hannah Tointon
She later found love with her co-star[/caption]Hannah bagged more than a top acting gig when she joined The Inbetweeners – she found herself a husband.
Having played Tara Brown on the show, she was a love interest for Simon during one of the latter series.
However, two years later, it was revealed that the pair were in fact romancing one another in real life.
In 2017 the couple became engaged before later going on to welcome their first child together in 2022.
She further starred alongside her hubby on screens once more when she played the role of Caitlin in his 2018 film The Festival.
