ARSENAL have reportedly opened talks to sign Raheem Sterling.
The Chelsea forward has no future at Stamford Bridge after being cast out of the squad by Enzo Maresca.
Arsenal have made a move to sign Raheem Sterling[/caption]Sterling, 29, was linked with a move to Manchester United to replace Jadon Sancho, but that has not materialised.
The Athletic have now claimed that the Gunners have made a move to sign Sterling.
The report states that Arsenal are “in talks” and are “actively” working on a deal.
Personal terms still need to be agreed between Sterling and Arsenal; however, it is claimed that it will not be an issue.
Fabrizio Romano has added that Sterling has “opened the door” to the North London outfit.
He has suggested that the move could be a loan deal for the ex-England star.
A move to the Emirates will see Sterling boost his chances of game time this season.
Maresca admitted that the winger was not in his plans and that he would not be featured if he stays at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling has picked up 82 England caps in his career but has not been in the squad since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He would become the fourth new face through the door at Arsenal this summer should a deal go through.
Mikel Arteta has already added Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, and David Raya to his squad.
Chelsea, meanwhile, remains interested in signing Sancho before the transfer window ends.
The Blues have already suffered a blow on deadline day after it was reported Al-Ahli are closing in on BOTH their striker targets, Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.
However, it is understood the Saudi Arabian side do not have the funds or space for the two forwards.
This could mean Chelsea still have a chance of signing one of them as their summer spending threatens to exceed £250m.
