Diana would be jealous of Harry’s life in California – but devastated by his fall out with William, claims royal expert
PRINCESS Diana would envy some aspects of Harry’s life in America – but she’d be devastated by his fall out with William, a royal expert has said.
The late Princess of Wales would have done all she could to quash tensions between her sons before they boiled over into what is now an intense estrangement – according to Ingrid Seward.
A royal expert said Diana, pictured here with the then-Prince Charles, William and Harry in 1989, would be envious of Harry’s life in the States[/caption] Charles, William and Harry look at floral tributes to Diana in 1997, who sadly died 27 years ago this Saturday[/caption]On the 27th anniversary of Diana’s death on Saturday, Ingrid told The Sun she believes the people’s princess would be heartbroken at the state of Harry and Wills’ relationship.
While she would be “angry” with the two princes for allowing problems to come between them, Di would be “envious” that her youngest was able to get out of the UK and live her “dream” life.
Ingrid said: “I believe the life that Harry has in America, with a wife and family away from the royal world, is a life that Diana wanted for herself and would be very proud of Harry that he’d actually managed to get this life.
“I think what would really upset Diana is that Harry is estranged from his brother and father.
“Diana was very anxious to always keep the family together.
“But as far as Harry’s life is concerned I think she’d be very envious. This is exactly what Diana wanted for herself.
“She wanted to go and live in America, she thought for some reason it would be a more golden and easier existence for her.
“Which indeed it may have been sadly if she had ever managed to realise that dream.”
Ingrid went on to claim that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would still be living in the UK and very much a part of the Firm if Diana was still alive.
She added: “If Diana were around this probably never would have happened.
“She was such a strong person and it would never have escalated this far.
“Harry and Meghan would still be living in the UK and a part of the royal family.”
It comes after Harry, 39, and William were together on Thursday for their uncle’s funeral – but were not seen talking to each other.
The princes both “discreetly” attended the funeral for Lord Robert Fellowes, who was their mother Diana’s brother-in-law.
They were said to have sat apart at the back of the church in Snettisham, Norfolk.
Harry has recently been accused of dredging up every awful thing he’s ever said about the royals.
His explosive memoir Spare is soon to be released in paperback version.
Spare was originally published in 2023 launching vile attacks on the Firm.
Harry cruelly alleged Prince William knocked him to the floor and ripped his necklace after heated words about Meghan.
The dad-of-two also recalled how he begged his father not to marry Camilla and feared she would be a “wicked stepmother” figure.
Meanwhile, speaking about his mum Diana’s death when he was 12-years-old, the Duke claimed Charles didn’t even give him a hug.
And, during interviews to garner more publicity before it originally hit the shelves, Harry unleashed a litany of more digs.
Spare’s paperback will be released on October 24 in the UK, and October 22 in the US.
The Sussexes declined to comment.
Prince William and Harry reunite at their uncle’s funeral
HARRY and William were together earlier this week to say goodbye to their uncle — but were not seen talking to each other.
The princes both “discreetly” attended the funeral for Lord Robert Fellowes, who was their mother Diana’s brother-in-law, on Thursday.
They were said to have sat apart at the back of the church in Snettisham, Norfolk.
Sources close to US-based Harry, 39, had previously claimed he would not attend.
But a close family friend said they were “very happy to confirm both princes were there”.
Another source told how they saw them only at the end of the service in St Mary’s Church.
They said: “I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly.”
One local added: “William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance.”
The brothers have barely spoken to each other since Megxit, when Harry and wife Meghan quit royal duties for a new life in the States.
Harry and William, 42, went on a walkabout at Windsor after the death of Queen Elizabeth in 2022 but have not been in the same room since the King’s Coronation more than a year ago.
