She recently bought the L’Oreal True Match Nude Tinted Serum Foundation, $20.
The L’Oreal product comes in 14 shades to suit multiple skin tones.
“I found this is 100% better than Clinique Even Better Serum Foundation,’ she said in a post.
She added that the Clinique Clinical Serum Foundation with SPF 25, $48, “was way heavier.”
“It felt more like a normal foundation, sat on my skin and transfers,” she explained.
The Clinique purchase has a wider shade selection than the cheaper choice with 42 options.
The Reddit user said the the L’Oreal one “is more lightweight, doesn’t transfer and lasts all day.”
The biggest selling point was the price because “it’s about $40 cheaper.”
After letting the serum sit, she said it leaves “a luminous finish.”
She dubbed it her “new favorite.”
REDDIT REACTIONS
Other Redditors agreed that it was a good choice and rivaled the Clinique one.
“Omg True Match Serum is about to be the only bottle of foundation I’ve used to completion,” one commented.
“I’ll be after something with a bit more coverage next but still definitely going to buy True Match Serum again for those days when I do want lighter coverage.”
Another admitted that she “really wasn’t aware that it’s a dupe for Clinique Even Better Serum Foundation.”
“It’s certainly one of the few foundation that made it to my staple lineup and would be the first one I’d buy if I lose all my makeup,” she added.
A Reddit said they didn’t think it was a “true dupe for a specific reason.
“I expected the Clinique foundation to feel more serum,” she explained.
She was “sorely disappointed with the texture and finish.”
“The L’Oreal one felt more like a serum as it blended so evenly and did not separate or look cakey like Clinique.”
