I gave my youngest kid 3 unique names – the first means ‘miracle’ in another language but I won’t say which one
IT’S very unlikely one little boy will grow up sharing his name with a classmate after his parents opted to give him an unconventional moniker.
Many people have been stumped by how to pronounce his full name and confused about which country it originates.
A Reddit user sparked a discussion about unconventional baby names (stock image)[/caption]A social media post announcing the baby boy’s birth was shared on Reddit’s Tragedeigh forum.
“Oh my God, a girl I know just named her kid this,” the Redditor said, writing under the handle Woodburntpenis.
“How do you pronounce the name even?”
GUESS WHO
The Facebook post showed five photos of the newborn with his face covered alongside the meaning of his name.
“On August 13th at 4:12 pm we welcomed our last and final miracle and yes I mean that [laughing],” the post read.
“Heryx Zazrak Riyon [surname].
“Zazrak means miracle in another language and Riyon means the beauty of heavens in another language.”
The mom didn’t reveal the country or culture the names were inspired by as she expressed their sentimental value.
“His name means a lot and fits everything we had to go through to be able to have him here with us,” she said.
“He’s a miracle from God and couldn’t be more than thankful for this gift especially to be able to have him in my arms.
“He has truly touched all of our hearts.”
NO FAIRYTALE
The Redditor reassured the forum that the post wasn’t a fake.
“I promise this isn’t a joke haha saw it on my Facebook feed today from this girl who has 6 children,” she said.
“Named Karsan, Baylan, Hayslee, Ezalynn, and Wren.
“She lives in the town next to my parents idk [I don’t know] how I know her or why we are friends on Facebook honestly.
“Wish I could make this up.”
What does Zazrak mean?
The name Zazrak is listed as a Czech word meaning Miracle on the Hungarian website Dictzone.
According to Mom Junction, Miracle is a unisex name of Latin origin that means “to amaze or help others.”
LANGUAGE BARRIER
Responses to the post attempted to guess where the names may have originated and shared their opinions.
“‘Another language’ DOES SHE EVEN KNOW WHICH ONE? Cause if she knew she’d say what language and another language is too vague,” one person said.
“Google translate laughed at me when I tried to translate those words,” another commented.
“This reminds me of people getting tattoos in languages they don’t speak, explaining their s****y tattoos meaning… except done to an innocent lil baby,” a third wrote.
“Apparently Riyon is Hindi and Zazrak is Czech, but I could not find Heryx,” a fourth said.
“So I assume these people just Googled other languages and pulled the first names they came across.”
