Xbox fans are furious as game is delayed indefinitely after developer claims Xbox doesn’t care
ONE of the biggest releases this month has been delayed indefinitely on Xbox.
Enotria: The Last Song is an upcoming soulslike that hopes to change up the genre by setting it in a bright world.
A different take on the soulslike genre[/caption]We’ve seen a number of huge successes from relatively fresh studios this year including Palworld and most recently Black Myth: Wukong.
Enotria is set to follow this trend, as players have expressed excitement for the game from the relatively small Italian studio.
While it was set to be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox version is delayed indefinitely.
Developer Jyamma Games claims this is because of Xbox and Microsoft’s poor communication, despite ports for both Xbox consoles being ready.
This isn’t the first time that Jyamma Games claimed that Enotria would not be launching on Xbox.
Back in March, the studio said it was cancelling the Xbox version to work on optimising the PC and PS5 ports of the game.
However, it later stated that the Xbox version was in development and that the release date would be pushed back to September to allow for this.
The team has now announced that the Xbox port is delayed indefinitely following a lack of communication from the company.
CEO Jacky Greco took to Discord to write: “You can ask Xbox why they haven’t answered us for two months.
“Obviously they don’t care about Enotria and they don’t care about you.
“We’ve Xbox Series X/S versions ready, but we can’t proceed with submission and release.
“I spent a lot of money on porting it and they decided to ignore us.”
Before a game can be released on an online storefront it has to first go through a submission process where people from the platform check and then either approve or reject it.
If no one from Microsoft approves Enotria, then it cannot be sold on the Microsoft Store for Xbox or PC.
However, it can still be sold for PC on other platforms such as Steam that has reviewed and approved of it.
According to Greco, the game is still yet to be submitted as Xbox is yet to respond to queries about opening up a page.
If Microsoft does not respond to Jyamma Games, then there is nothing the team can do to get the game released on Microsoft platforms.
