I met my husband through Oasis, named my business after the band and even had a nod to the Gallaghers at my wedding
AN Oasis superfan who found her hubby through their love of the band has told of her joy at the Gallagher brothers’ reunion.
Sian Downes, of Hawick, Roxburghshire, has an Oasis-themed home and named her company Strawberry Lemonade after lyrics from hit song Talk Tonight.

The couple are parents to Rhia, three, and six-week-old tot Luna, and have been married for seven years after bonding over their love for the band on dating app Tinder.
Sian told the Scottish Sun: “Mark asked me if I preferred Liam or Noel after I declared my love for the band on my profile.
“I wrote him a whole essay as a response. As far as I was concerned if he couldn’t accept my love of Oasis on Tinder then he wouldn’t in real life.
“It was only then when he revealed he was in a Noel Gallagher acoustic cover band so it was a match made in heaven.”
The pair – who decked out their home in themed merch – even had an Oasis-themed wedding where the event stationery gave a nod to the band logo and Sian tracked down an exclusive replica of Noel’s Riviera guitar for her new hubby.
The event planner’s love for the band even runs through her business Strawberry Lemonade, a social enterprise named after a lyric from the 1995 b-side track Talk Tonight.
Sian promises “all your dreams are made” when she organises charity dos and award ceremonies.
She confessed she’s loved the 90s rock legends since primary school and while all her classmates loved Steps and the Spice Girls she was “hardcore Liam and Noel.”
She said: “I was given a compilation CD for my Christmas which had ‘D’you know what I mean?’ on it.
“After that I would use all my pocket money to buy Oasis cassettes. I would beg my dad to buy me the albums and when I got given What’s the Story Morning Glory, my favourite album, I was hooked.
“I was lucky to see them in Glasgow twice back in 2005 – first at Hampden then later at the SECC.
“I remember the excitement of joining other fans at Mount Florida train station and then walking up to the gig, it was electric, I was buzzing.”
Since the band split in 2009, Sian has seen the brothers’ bands separately ten times – but she said nothing has compared to the original lineup.
She continued: “I had made peace with the fact they were never getting back together so this announcement has shook me to the core.
“I feel this generation doesn’t have a band that delivers the same intergenerational anthemic rock like Oasis – there has been nothing like them since. They took over the world without social media.
“I just hope that when they come back they sound just as good, it is difficult to recreate that magic from the first time around. I’ve got hope and I’m buzzing for it no matter how they sound, I know it is going to be special.”
Liam, 51, and Noel Gallagher, 57, announced over the weekend they will reunite for performances next summer as part of their Live ’25 Tour.
Tickets for the shows in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin go on sale on Saturday morning – with a presale ballot that opened on Tuesday for 24 hours until 7pm on Wednesday.
Insiders tell us that extra concerts will be announced once this run sells out.
A total of 1,066,888 tickets will be available over the 14 gigs with demand set to be four times that.
Sian said her priority now is to get her hands on the gold-dust tickets to one of their 2025 shows.
But she admits she was having sleepless nights thinking about trying to bag the briefs.
“This is going to send me into an anxiety-ridden state”, she said.
“I’m already waking up in night sweats over the demand after I saw what happened with Taylor Swift’s Eras tour selling out fast last year and mega fans missing out.
“We are trying to work out how much we are willing to spend to make sure it happens, we are willing to travel but, to be honest, we want to see them here because nothing compares to a Scottish crowd.”
But lucky Sian later revealed she managed to skip the ticket queue after she was offered the chance to bag tickets via Murrayfield’s hospitality packages shortly after speaking to the Scottish Sun.
She added: “I can relax now knowing I’m going to be there.”
