Three brothers appeared at the Old Bailey today in connection with Cher’s stabbing.
Shakiel Thibou, 20, is charged with murder, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
His brothers Sheldon Thibou, 24, and Shaeim Thibou, 22, are accused of violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker
The court was told Cher was with her daughter at a group of friends when a fight broke out close to her.
Sheldon Thibou, who faces an additional charge of possession of a stun gun, was allegedly seen fighting an unknown man before being joined by Shaeim.
Prosecutor Alistair Richardson said Shakeil then ran towards another man while holding a “large machete style knife”.
He fell backwards into Cher, who was knocked to the ground as Shakiel allegedly “lunged again” at the man.
Police raced over and urged him to “drop the knife” but the attack continued, it was said.
Mr Richardson added: “Shakiel fell onto Cher and Cher kicked out at him with the large machete style knife clearly visible.
“Shakiel then stabbed Cher to the groin area and she collapsed.”
The trio were remanded into custody ahead of a plea hearing on November 28.
Tributes flooded in for Cher following the horror including from her devastated family.
They said: “Cher was beautiful inside and out. She has a lot of family and has many friends.
“She was a good mother and protector of family and close friends.”
A GoFundMe launched to help Cher’s daughter and raise funds for her funeral has reached more than £13,000.
Organiser Yasmin Joseph said: “Cher was enjoying a joyful day out with her beloved three-year-old daughter when her life was cut short in an act of senseless violence.
“In light of this heartbreaking loss, we have created this GoFundMe page to provide funds towards Cher’s funeral as well as essential financial and therapeutic support for Cher’s daughter, who now faces a future without her mother.
“This little girl deserves all the love and care we can offer during this incredibly difficult time.
“Cher was not just a mother; she was a shining light in her community, known for her warmth and kindness.
“Her smile brought joy to many, and her legacy will live on through her daughter.
“Together, we can help ensure that this young girl has the resources she needs to grow up surrounded by love, support, and opportunities.”
Cher’s death came the day after top chef Mussie Imnetu was killed at the carnival.
The 41-year-old, who worked under Gordon Ramsay, was discovered unconscious with catastrophic brain injuries on August 26.
