Tragedy as teenage boy, 16, is killed after Audi veers off road and ploughs into trees in horror crash
A TEENAGE boy has been killed after an Audi veered off the road and ploughed into trees in a horror crash.
The Audi A3 Sport left the carriageway and struck nearby trees on in Preston, Lancashire, at about 10.55am on Tuesday.
A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital but died of his injuries yesterday.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, also suffered serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.
A 17-year-old boy who was also in the vehicle is in a stable condition, cops said.
Sgt Paul McCurrie, of Lancashire Police’s Road Policing Unit said: “A young life has been lost.
“At what must be an incredibly distressing time for them, my thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the teenager who sadly died.
“We’re continuing to investigate the collision, and my thoughts also remain with the injured people and their loved ones.
Sergeant McCurrie added: “We wanted to bring you this update today.
“But we are also continuing to ask for any witnesses, or people with dashcam footage of the Chain Caul Way area.”
