DEFYING the signs of ageing doesn’t require expensive cosmetic injections, according to an aesthetics expert.
Nicole Smith said there’s a hair theory that can instantly make people look around 10 years younger.

The beauty enthusiast went viral on the social media app when she shared a simple anti-ageing tip.
She shared photos of several celebrities as she explained that different hairstyles can impact how people perceive you.
“Your hairstyle could be making you look 10 years younger or 10 years older,” she said.
Nicole recommended taking a trip to the hair salon for an “instant glow-up.”
She said to ditch short hair and go for long locks with a middle parting to embrace the look that’s popular with women in their twenties.
“You can look much younger by keeping up with hair trends,” she said.
“Your hair and fashion can influence the perception someone has about your age. Having a youthful hairstyle is the key to ageing well.”
She showed a photo of Jennifer Lopez who has lengthy brunette locks at age 55.
Almost 83,000 people liked the video and hundreds of viewers supported Nicole’s hair theory.
“Cutting one’s hair short is the kiss of death. I’m 63 and wear mine long and proud,” one person said.
“She is so right. My hair was long and straight I am 47,” another commented.
“Now I lost it to chemo, it’s short and turned all grey and curly – I look old now.”
“My dad said he never understood why women turned 50 and chopped their hair off because they instantly look old. Not as popular now but used to be,” a third chimed in
“I’m 45 with waist-length hair and it confuses the heck out of people [laughing],” a fourth wrote.
“I’m 67 and have bangs. They cover the lines on my forehead. My hair is medium-length. I agree hairstyle is key to looking younger,” another added.
Hair loss tips
We can lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day, according to the NHS.
It is not usually something to worry about, but occasional it can be a sign of a medical concern.
These include illness, stress, cancer treatment, weight loss and iron deficiency.
The NHS advises to book an appointment with your GP to see if you can get to the cause of it.
Experts at American Academy of Dermatology Association also recommend to eat healthy, limit curling irons and only use them for special occasions.
They also recommend using a gentle shampoo, and make use of leave-in conditioners.
However, other responses to the post argued that Nicole was wrong based on their experiences.
“Yeah not on me, I tried the middle part with long hair and it aged me by at least 10 years,” one person wrote.
“I’m in my 40s and everyone I know tells me I look younger with short hair. Have your hair however makes you feel good,” another commented.
“I still think a chic bob is so flattering and stylish. Long hair curled is a bit tired,” a third quipped.
