I couldn’t afford an extension so bought a shepherd’s hut & transformed it into our spare room – it sits on our driveway
A WOMAN who wanted to extend her house but didn’t have the budget for it has shared how she added a spare room.
Charlotte Jones took to social media to show off her impressive DIY home addition.
Charlotte Jones revealed she turned a tiny hut into a spare room[/caption] Not only was it cheaper than an extension she could even fit a bathroom and small kitchen area as well[/caption] People were stunned by how cute the hut looked[/caption]Taking to the Facebook page DIY on a budget, Charlotte revealed how she made a gorgeous modern spare room – without having to get the builders in.
Instead of knocking down any walls – the savvy woman decided to park a shepherd’s hut on her driveway and convert it into her spare room.
She wrote: “Spare bedroom built from scratch, and yes, it is much cheaper than an extension.”
Charlotte, showed off the outside of the hut which was made with large panels of wood to give it a rustic look.
Inside, Charlotte had used pine wood to create the floors and walls of the interiors – giving it a modern and cosy touch.
Walking through the front door was a hallway with a small breakfast table to the side.
Moving into the shepherd’s hut there was a small kitchen area equipped with a sink and fresh fruit so food can be prepared.
To the right of the kitchen was another door which included the bathroom.
The black and white themed bathroom had a fully working shower, sink and toilet to use, which she later revealed was attached to the mains of her house.
At the very far end of the hut was a tiny bedroom which featured a double bed with storage underneath.
People were left in awe over the transformation and was quick to praise Charlotte for her hard work.
Charlotte added that you can speak to your local council on if you can keep a hut in the driveway without permission as each council have different rules.
The post soon went viral on the Facebook group with over 500 likes.
