Fate of Netflix series revealed as bosses issue update on show’s third season before the second even hits screens
FANS of Netflix’s hit action-thriller The Night Agent have a lot to look forward to in the wake of a new update from the streaming giant.
Show bosses are not only offering a first look at the highly anticipated second season, but have also revealed that a third installment is already in the works.
Show bosses have revealed the fate of the Netflix series[/caption] They made a big announcement about series three[/caption]Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent tells the story of a low-level FBI agent stationed in the basement of the White House.
His mundane job takes a sharp turn when the emergency phone he monitors finally rings, throwing him into the center of a high stakes conspiracy that reaches all the way to the Oval Office.
Gabriel Basso stars in the show as FBI agent Peter Sutherland.
After filming for series two wrapped in June, he made an emotional Instagram post, saying: “A massive thank you to everyone on the crew who put their blood, sweat, and tears into this. Can’t wait for the world to see what you guys made.”
The exciting announcement that there will be a third series has signalled Netflix’s confidence in the show’s ongoing success.
The show’s creator, Shawn Ryan, expressed his excitement about the news in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum.
He told the site: “We’re so excited that our fans will get to watch Season 2 of The Night Agent in early 2025, and we’ve been hard at work writing Season 3 to deliver more breathless Peter Sutherland Night Action adventures to our rabid audience.”
Shawn previously spoke about the moment when he knew Gabriel was the right person to play the leading man.
In another chat with Tudum, he shared: “The thing about Gabriel is that the minute you place eyes on him, you like him.
“The camera’s pan stops at Gabriel, you’re like, ‘Oh, who is that?’
“You sense a good soul there…The camera loves Gabriel — even when he is not speaking, something soulful comes across.”
Shawn went on to elaborate on how Gabriel’s martial arts skills also make him perfect for the job, adding: “There’s a physicality and authenticity that he brings to the role that a lot of other actors fake but don’t really have.”
