Hidden iOS 18 feature on your iPhone can save you money and stop you overspending while travelling
AN iOS 18 feature tucked away in your Calculator app can help save you money and stop accidental overspending while travelling abroad.
Before the most recent iPhone update, the Calculator app was just a calculator – but now it can be used for much more.
The tool can save money in terms of overspending in a currency you’re not familiar with[/caption]Built into the new-and-improved Calculator app is a conversion tool.
It can be used for both unites and currencies – with the latter being incredibly helpful for on-the-go conversions while travelling.
Instead of using Google or a third-party conversion app, iPhone owners can simply hop into the Calculator app to crunch the numbers.
The tool can save money in terms of overspending in a currency you’re not familiar with.
But it can also save money on your data usage, because you can avoid using Google to work out the prices.
Currency converters are one of the apps more likely to be cloned to carry malware.
While unlikely, any opportunity to avoid falling into such a trap is welcome.
Here’s how it works…
If you want to know what five British pounds equates to in US dollars, you simply type the number five into the number field.
Then tap the calculator icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Here you can select the Convert toggle.
Next, choose the currency of your choice.
Once you tap the currency, the conversion should appear.
