My tip stops spiders from ‘invading’ your home – all you need is a £1 Temu buy
IT’S that time of the year where your house is likely inundated with spiders.
A simple trick can help to repel the pests from your home this autumn.
In his viral video, TikTok user Bo (@dadadvicefrombo) revealed his go-to hack for preventing spiders from “invading” his house.
“As the nights get colder, the spiders outside are going to try to come inside,” he explained.
Bo revealed the trick his wife taught him to keep the creepy crawlies from entering their home.
“My wife says spiders don’t like peppermint so I like to spray it on all the doors and windows around the house,” he said.
He joked that if it was up to him he would but peppermint oil in his pressure washer and “douse the house.”
Bo explained that he mixes the essential oil with equal parts water to dilute it.

As well as spraying the mixture on the exterior of the home, Bo added that his wife also places peppermint-soaked cotton balls to their interior windowsills.
According to experts, spiders “taste” with their legs and tend to avoid crawling through fragrant oils because they dislike strong odours.
Bo also shared his other hacks for making sure spiders don’t congregate in his space.
He advised his audience to keep their rooms free of clutter, avoiding piles of clothing.
This is because spiders like to take shelter in dark areas to lay their eggs.
Bo also demonstrated how he checks his gloves before putting them on, since spiders like to take refuge in them.
