According to Thomas Moore, the Aldi version looks ‘exactly the same’ as the high-end version[/caption]

Not only has the affordable dupe been praised as the ‘exact same’ as the posh, more expensive version, but it’s a jaw-dropping £280 cheaper too.

A shopper named Thomas Moore was left incredibly thrilled with his Aldi purchase, so much so that he took to social media to show it off.

Posting on Aldi UK Shoppers, a private Facebook group with 332,300 members, Thomas shared a snap of his bargain buy – the blue Cast Iron Casserole Dish from Aldi.

Alongside his post, he penned: “So we [were] looking at getting a new casserole dish, but couldn’t find a larger one suitable online.

“While shopping in Aldi at the weekend, I chanced upon the one in pic one. Phoned the Mrs, sent her a pic and agreed that’s the one we wanted. Only £24.99.”

He then added: “Today on my Facebook newsfeed, I get an advert for casserole dishes, exactly the same as the blue one I bought, cast iron 3.5l.

“Out of curiosity I clicked on it, and nearly dropped on my backside.

“Aldi £24.99, some brand I’ve never heard of – £305. What a bargain.”

The expensive buy Thomas compared his dish to is the Cast Iron Shallow Casserole Dish from Le Creuset.

But whilst the posh Le Creuset buy is priced at a jaw-dropping £305, it’s no surprise that Thomas was thrilled with his purse-friendly alternative, which was £280.01 cheaper.

The viral middle aisle buy, which returned to shelves last month, is available in blue, grey and orange.

It has a 3.5L capacity, with draining nubs inside the lid.

Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts

IF you’ve ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you’ll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.

Aldi’s speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.

It’s all part of Aldi’s plan to be as efficient as possible – and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.

Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.

It also uses “shelf-ready” packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.

The Specialbuy is also suitable for all stovetops, including induction and oven safe up to 250C.

In the official item description on the website, Aldi bosses said: “Unbelievable prices on high-quality cookware that last a lifetime.

Merely proves that you are paying for a name. Both products are the exact same

“Stunning and durable pieces of cookware, they’ll fit right in with your kitchen decor and you’ll end up using them time and time again.

“These are suitable for all kinds of cooktops, including induction.”

More Aldi middle aisle buys

IF it's middle aisle buys that you're looking here, some of the new items you won't want to miss.

Shoppers recently went wild for Aldi’s new ‘pregnancy and menopause essential’ – and it’s only £6.99.

Garden enthusiasts raced to nab a £6.99 buy that will add style to any garden in an instant.

A £12.99 garden find left shoppers open-mouthed – but you’ll need to sprint to nab it.

If you’re looking to light up your garden this summer, you won’t want to miss this £8.99 solar light.

Thomas later wrote: “Merely proves that you are paying for a name. Both products are the exact same, both made the same way, both serve the same purpose.

“And would be used with the same frequency, yet because of a brand name which is apparently the ‘don of cookware’, that one costs 12 times as much.”

Bargain hunters react

Facebook users were impressed with Thomas’ post and many quickly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person said: “They are very good copies of Le Creuset.”

I have an Aldi one for about 20+ years, still used regularly, still going strong

Another added: “This is a bargain.”

A third commented: “We got one last year. It’s great.”

At the same time, someone else chimed in: “I bought this one in this colour from Aldi years ago, still looks and cooks like new.”

Not only this, but another user claimed: “I have an Aldi one for about 20+ years, still used regularly, still going strong.

“I now have about 10 in total (including griddle pans etc) and some I have passed down to my children who have grown up and moved out.”
