Montréal dance favourite Sinca reveals music tracks rocking Canadian floors

0

SINCA brings a unique blend of her French-Canadian and Peruvian roots into her music.

The Montréal resident, real name Gabriela Sinclair-Desgagné, has been making her mark through her house, progressive and melodic techno tunes on tastemaker labels such as John Digweed’s Bedrock, Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream and Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep.

With her music catching the ears of some of the world’s best DJs some impressive gigs have followed from Coachella, Burning Man and the Brooklyn Mirage to SXM Festival, Piknik Electronic and Sziget Festival.

We caught up with Sinca this week to mark the release of her remix of Husa & Zeyada’s We Are Alive track which is out now on their label Soundscool.

She’s compiled a playlist of current tunes working her dance floors this festival season.

Read what she had to say about the music which includes her new remix below.

Husa & Zeyada – Are We Alive (Sinca Remix)

I’ve been a fan of Husa & Zeyada’s unique, groovy sound and Zeyada’s captivating vocals, so when they asked me to remix Are We Alive, I felt honored. I aimed to keep its essence while adding an indie dance vibe, and it’s exciting to be part of their new label Sound Cool from the start.

Jiggler – Delight

This track has been a regular in my sets lately. It embodies the blend I enjoy: progressive, deep, dark groove with percussion and melodies that add a hopeful and smoothing effect.

Le Chev – Cherry

A personal favourite, combining classic house riffs with a rich, deep groove. The hopeful vocals and ad-libs bring out an uplifting vibe.

Rawman – Heart Pieces (Mustafa Ismaeel Remix)

Mustafa Ismaeel is, to me, a king of grooves. This remix has a hypnotic feel: rhythmic and deep bassline, sensual vocals, but playful melodies. Love it.

Tripolism, Rosa Lee Luna – Luna Love

I’ve enjoyed playing this versatile track in different settings. It balances genres with influences from afro house, melodic house, and progressive, and the vocals add a captivating feel.

Stefano Albanese – Chop

I love the interplay of jerky vocals with a solid groove in this track. It’s energetic and keeps the floor moving.

Damelo – Move Ya Body

A dance-floor-ready track that creates an intimate vibe. It’s a bit fast for my usual sets, but when I slow it down, it fits seamlessly.

Lex Frequency – Release Yourself

I’m drawn to the house feel in this track, mixed with subtle progressive elements like sustained strings. The vocal effects add depth and atmosphere.

La Fleur – Plastic Miami

I love La Fleur. This track is brilliantly energetic yet melodic, with unique sound choices that stand out. I’ve played it often, especially at Burning Man. And the title itself is unforgettable.

Jimi Latifi – Chase The Sun

Closing the playlist, this track blends melodic accessibility with an underground vibe. The strong and hypnotic bassline, mixed with beautiful vocals, create a perfect balance of energy and depth.
