Chilling pics show how LA fires missed celeb homes by INCHES with Tom Hanks & Steven Spielberg’s mansions safe…for now

BLAZING wildfires have continued to rip through Los Angeles and destroy everything in their path, but some celebrity houses have been spared from the inferno.

Heartbroken A-listers like Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton and Bella Hadid witnessed their houses turn to smouldering rubble in the wind-fuelled flames.

More than 180,000 residents have been forced to flee their homes – with a further 200,000 warned they may need to quickly evacuate.

Some celebrities have had to face the sheer force of the wildfires, with their homes burned to the ground.

But others had their homes narrowly spared in the fires.

The home of Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, 68, was miraculously missed in the blaze – unlike his neighbors.

Hanks’ clifftop mansion in the Pacific Palisades managed to come out unscathed, with the gargantuan structure keeping its bright white walls and lush green lawn.

But the home just above wasn’t as lucky, with barely any of its infrastructure left.

Smoke is even captured still billowing from the charred remains of the multi-million-dollar home.

Mandy Moore‘s home came dangerously close to being completely razed by the fire too.

The This is Us actress, 40, said in a heartbreaking post on Instagram that her home is “still standing,” but a music studio belonging to her musician husband Taylor Goldsmith and brother Griffin was destroyed.

She wrote: “We were able to park and walk up our street to bear witness to all the loss.

“Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. It’s not liveable but mostly intact.”

She added that they also lost their “garage and backhouse”.

But her neighbor’s home was completely decimated by the blaze, with Moore confirming that they had “lost everything”.

Shocking images show the main part of Moore’s home looking relatively unscathed, but what looks to be the music studio and a back area to the house have been reduced to rubble and ash.

And, just as Moore said, there is nothing remaining of her neighbor’s house except two jet skis in the back.

Incredible images show Star Wars star Mark Hamill’s house that was saved from the Palisade fire.

The Luke Skywalker actor was one of the many Hollywood actors who had to evacuate due to the raging flames.

But the star will be relieved to see that his home still stands – completely unscathed.

Even what looks to be an annex to the home is standing strong, despite being inches away from Hamill’s neighbor’s property that didn’t have the same fate.

The fire completely consumed the Hollywood star’s neighbor’s home – with the only surviving items appearing to be two sets of drawers and the brick chimney.

Steven Spielberg’s home – worth between $20 and $35 million -narrowly miss the fires that ravaged the city this week.

The wooded state, with its acres of land and gargantuan pool, was miraculously avoided, along with the surrounding greenery.

But neighboring properties were torn down by the Palisades fires that continue to devastate residential areas.

President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has a residence in Malibu that avoided being destroyed by the flames too.

Unbelievable pictures show the right side of the plot completely charred by the fires, with the metal railings falling apart and a small building in the corner razed.

But on the left side, where Hunter’s property is, trees and grass remain – as does his home.

The house looks to have suffered little to no damage, even with the deadly flames being so close.

Other celebrities houses like Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kate Hudson’s survived the blazes – but fires in the area continue to burn.

The new Kenneth Fire is one of six fires wreaking havoc in LA – with ten people confirmed dead, though the toll is feared to be much higher.

Amputee Anthony Mitchell, 67, was tragically found dead alongside his bedridden son Justin, who was in his early 20s, after the Eaton Fire raged through their home.

The wheelchair-using great-grandfather of 10 lived in Altadena with his son, who lived with cerebral palsy, Anthony’s daughter Hajime White told The Washington Post.

Hajime, who lives in Arkansas, said that her retired salesman father desperately called her on Wednesday morning as the fires came ever closer to their family home.

“He said, ‘Baby, I’m just letting you know the fire’s broke out, and we’re going to have to evacuate,’” Hajime recounted.

“Then he said, ‘I’ve got to go — the fire’s in the yard.’”

Anthony also lived with his other son Jordan, also in his 20s, but Jordan was spared this horrifying fate as he was in hospital with an infection.

Hajime revealed she was told the heartwrenching news that Anthony and Justin did not survive the terror blaze.

“He was not going to leave his son behind. No matter what,” she said.

“It’s very hard. It’s like a ton of bricks just fell on me.”

A suspected arsonist armed with a blowtorch was tackled to the ground and restrained with zip ties by enraged locals near a celeb enclave in Los Angeles.

He was then arrested close to where the ferocious Kenneth Fire erupted on Thursday afternoon in the West Hills area of LA.

Authorities are treating the area as a crime scene as flames continue to rip across more than 1,000 acres.

A man, understood to be in his 30s, has been taken into custody after he was snared by residents.

He was allegedly caught trying to start a fire in the area, senior lead officer Charles Dinsel said.
