Krish Klean, who works for Krish Interior, took to social media to share their expert advice on how to make a home look luxurious, leaving many totally stunned.
Alongside the short clip, the interior pro wrote: “Things that make your home look CHEAP.”
The interior pro then shared the five things that you would never find in their house – the first of which being mismatch mugs.
In addition to this, the content creator also shared their distaste for roller blinds and crushed velvet furniture – with the latter having massively risen in popularity in the past five years.
The interior designer also advised people to avoid rugs that are too small for a space and colourful towels.
Instead of brightly coloured bathroom towels, the interior pro instead recommended white towels for a more sophisticated look.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @krishklean, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 203,800 views in just 20 hours.
But social media users were left totally divided by the clip – and many quickly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.
One person said: “Greys and crushed velvet are 100% out of fashion..”
Whilst another added: “I agree with the velvet and the rug.”
However, many felt personally attacked by the user’s claims and were extremely keen to disagree.
Trends interior designers hate
IF you want to ensure that your home looks glam, here are the trends that interior designers can't stand.
NO YELLOW: According to Bilal Rehman, yellow paint in a bedroom is a big no no.
He said: “If you want everyone to know you’re a horse girl then yellow is perfect for you.”
SIGN OFF: Kelly Hoppen shared her honest thoughts on Live, Love, Laugh signs.
The interior pro explained: “Another gripe of mine – Live, Laugh, Love – those kinds of wooden things that sit on book shelves and floating shelves, that’s so 10, 12, 15 years ago.”
NO GREY YAY: Julie Provenzano explained that grey interiors have been overdone.
She stressed: “We took a good thing and we overdid it to the point that it now feels copy, paste, basic.”
One user questioned: “Colourful towels?? Really. As long as they’re clean and fresh, who cares.”
A second wrote: “I like mismatched mugs… it makes it seem homely everyone has a mug they favour and that suits their preference…bland and samey uniformity lacks heart.”
House decor is a personal choice! Just because it isn’t your style, doesn’t make it ‘cheap’
TikTok user
A third asked: “Why are people so snobby about other people’s decor? Your home is your own personal space, your safe place to relax, it should be decorated to your taste and likes, not to please others.”
Whilst another wondered: “Who decided that?”
To this, the TikTok creator replied: “Me. I have an interior design degree.”
But in response, someone else slammed: “House decor is a personal choice! Just because it isn’t your style, doesn’t make it ‘cheap’.”
