Sick messages Caitlin Clark got from ‘stalker’ Michael Lewis as she was forced to disguise herself in public out of fear
THE man accused of stalking Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark flooded her X account with sexually explicit and threatening messages that led her to fear for her safety.
The ominous messages from Michael Lewis forced Clark, 22, to disguise herself and change her movement pattern while out in public, according to court documents viewed by The U.S. Sun.
Lewis’ concerning posts about Clark began as early as December 16 and continued even after Indianapolis Metro Police interviewed him about the social media comments on Wednesday.
In a series of X posts addressed to Clark’s username, Lewis made vile and lewd remarks about fantasies he wanted to engage in with the WNBA guard.
“Soon we’ll be married . And raise a family. . oh ya. . have a cozy little crib in the country . .With 2 children maybe 3. . But it (we know michael . Its just ur imagination),” he allegedly wrote to Clark in one post on December 30.
Lewis, 55, followed up that post, saying, “Im so excited we are a couple . .a royal couple for sure . making super royal babies. .(and it was just m imagination . Once again . . running away w me).”
“I miss u so much i can hardly stand it. .have a good one,” he wrote in another.
In a separate post, Lewis appeared to inform Clark he was in Indianapolis, “We are coming to u live from downtown indy and we have a special guest named Michael on vacation from Texas.”
Police learned Lewis, a resident of Denton, Texas, was staying at a hotel in downtown Indianapolis after the FBI pinged an IP address from his recent X posts to the Hilton Garden Hotel.
Indianapolis Metro Police visited Lewis at the hotel on January 8 and asked him about his concerning X posts to Clark.
“Just the same reason everybody makes posts,” Lewis told investigators when asked about the online comments.
When asked about the threatening posts, Lewis denied it was him and claimed that “this is just an imaginary relationship.”
Lewis described his posts as a “joke, an imagination, fantasy type thing” and denied they were threatening.
Police asked Lewis to stop writing the offensive posts, however, he continued to make vulgar remarks to Clark.
Lewis sent Clark hundreds of messages of X between January 8, the date police went to his hotel room and asked him to stop, and his arrest on Sunday.
In one X post between, Lewis allegedly acknowledged the police visit to his hotel, writing to Clark, “Pacers rented ur house last night… hope they cleaned up after themselves…. FBI paid me a visit.”
“ARE WE IN LOVE or just friends?” Lewis allegedly wrote in another post.
“They said I was sending threatening texts… but the only though [SIC] on my mind was…. CAITLIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNN,” Lewis wrote and tagged Clark.
In a separate post, Lewis allegedly said he was circling Clark’s home daily, “Been driving around your house 3x a day…but don’t call the law just yet, the public is allowed to drive by gainbridge… aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse.”
Clark spoke to police on Saturday and informed them she was scared for her safety after learning Lewis was in Indianapolis.
She told authorities she had to “alter her patterns of movement” due to her concerns.
The Indiana Fever superstar told investigators she did not know Lewis and never replied to his comments on X.
Lewis was arrested on Sunday and charged with one count of stalking, threatening sexual battery or death.
He is scheduled to appear in Marion Superior Court on Tuesday.
Lewis was ordered to stay away from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the home court of the Indiana Fever, and Hinkle Fieldhouse, the court the Fever played at when Gainbridge was undergoing renovations.
