TUI to launch new holidays to two new Spanish hotspots including a local-loved seaside resort

TWO more Spanish hotspots are about to be even easier to get to thanks to new TUI holidays.

TUI‘s City Breaks now include both Malaga and Sitges, taking the number of breaks to 51.

Sitges is often overlooked by Brits, despite it’s proximity to Barcelona.

Just a 30-minute train ride from the city, it has even been dubbed the “Brighton of Barcelona“.

Lee Bell, who visits Spain at least once a month, often visits the town and gave some of his top tips.

He said: “One of my favourite places to do just that is the little-known restaurant El Náutico, part of a sailing club with a three-course lunch meal costing just £17 (and includes a drink).

“There’s also Parrots bar – a down-to-earth spot with £3 glasses of sangria.”

Visit in February for the “wildest winter in Spain” which is the Sitges Carnival, with more than 250,000 flocking to the town.

Some of the cheapest deals include a four night break in Sitges for just £200 each, when staying at Galeon hotel.

Neil Swanson, Managing Director of TUI UK, said “We’re always looking for ways to inspire our customers, and adding Sitges and Malaga to our city break collection does just that.

“Sitges offers a unique blend of culture and coastal beauty, while Malaga is perfect for history buffs and beach lovers alike.

“Our cities programme continues to go from strength to strength and is growing by around 30 per cent each year.”

Malaga remains a popular Spanish destination with Brits, which has more than 300 days of sunshine a year.

It has more than 100 miles of sandy beaches so you won’t be fighting for space even in the summer.

And a beer is cheap, with the average costing around £2.50.

If you want to go sooner rather than later, February remains around 20C and you can find a bargain.

Three-night stays with return flights sit around the £200pp mark.

Spanish saving tips according to an expert

Travel writer Lee Bell recently revealed how holidaymakers heading to Barcelona can make their trip a whole lot cheaper from transport tips to dinners out.

First off, Lee recommended swapping the airport taxi for a local bus, which will save solo travellers around €20.

He added: “Dodge the pricey cocktails before a night out and instead head down to Can Paixano – or what the locals call “La Xampanyeria” (champagne bar) where you’ll find a “copa de cava” for just €1 a pop.

“Ask for a ‘clara’ – essentially a Spanish shandy made with Fanta Limón – at practically any bar. It’s not only cheaper but it’s a tasty, more refreshing option for when the temperatures soar.”

Another Spanish destination set to be big this year is Oviedo, named a top 2025 place to watch by ABTA.

Here’s everything you need to know about some of the Spain rules including the how much money you need to enter the country.
