Sky drops massive clue about its mystery new TV product that’s due to arrive very soon as fans beg for Q box update
SKY is poised to launch a brand new mystery TV product very soon and The Sun has uncovered a big clue which may suggest what to expect.
The broadcaster has sent out invites to press for a “smarter, brighter, and better than ever” unnamed device.
Satellite fans are hoping for a new version of Sky Q[/caption] But most Sky Glass models are suspiciously out of stock or low at the moment[/caption]Telly fans on social media have been hoping that it might be a brand new Sky Q box.
Sky Q was launched almost nine years ago and is the firm’s most recent satellite TV product.
But The Sun has spotted a possible clue on Sky’s website which may point towards what’s ahead.
Sky Glass, the company’s streamed TV product, is almost entirely sold out or low on stock at the moment.
Now, this could merely be a simple stock issue.
After all, Sky did recently launch a Sky Glass sale, knocking the cheapest model down from £699 to £599 when paying upfront.
But it could also be a sign of shifting old stock out to make space for new.
The company has been easing towards internet-based TV with Sky Glass for sometime now.
Unlike satellite where you require a dish, it packs everything into the TV itself with no box.
The first Sky Glass was released back in October 2021.
But satellite loyalists aren’t as keen on the internet-based option because of how recordings are stored.
Satellite boxes allow you to keep the recordings on your box, whereas Sky Glass creates a cloud-based link which have stricter expiry dates you can’t get around.
“Sky are committed to streaming, probably an update to the glass & puck, they are trying to get customers to move from q,” one user speculated on a Facebook group.
“It’s not going to be an update to Q,” another added.
We’ll have to wait until next month to find out exactly what Sky has up its sleeve.
