Kate Middleton made secret nod to key royal with her £3,000 handbag during hospital visit – and it’s not Princess Diana

PRINCESS Kate made a subtle nod to a key royal with her £3,000 handbag during a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she had received cancer treatment.

The 43-year-old looked effortlessly stylish as she entered the hospital through the main entrance, having previously made many quiet, private visits.

She thanked the medical teams during the visit and offered words of support and hugs to those living with the disease.

In September, she completed chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer, describing the last six months as “incredibly tough”.

The Princess looked royally chic, wearing a bespoke Blaze Milano coat and Russell & Bromley pumps, all while reflecting her commitment to the Royal Family by accessorising with an Asprey ‘Morgan’ bag.

Made from soft grain leather, the £2,995 bag is a true “embodiment of luxury and refinement.”

The bag has a clean and minimal silhouette, and it effortlessly transitions from day to evening, making it an ideal accessory for any occasion.

The bag Kate was spotted with is an earlier version which can be purchased in-store, whilst there is an updated version that has a chain strap and is on sale online and in-store.

The company, who has a connection to British royalty dating back to the 1800s, runs a philanthropy programme that supports various charities including

Asprey told the MailOnline that they were “incredibly honoured” that Kate wore the Morgan bag on her outing to the Royal Marsden hospital.

They also added that the designer “embodies the future of that special historical tie that the brand holds with the royal family.”

Queen Elizabeth II was extremely fond of the British designer for its high-quality items.

The designer has even held its Royal Warrants from every British monarch since Queen Victoria in 1862, and these are only given to companies with a long-standing relationship with the royal family.

In 1953 it created a collection of gold dessert, coffee, and liqueur services to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.

What was previously specialised to make silk scarves, before expanding into luxury luggage, then was granted a royal warrant as jewellers and silversmiths by King George IV.

Queen Elizabeth II then renewed these warrants, whilst also extending them to include goldsmiths.

This came after Queen Mary commissioned a five-strand pearl necklace in 1925.

Back in 2011 and 2016, the Queen loaned an Asprey Maple Leaf Brooch to Kate, who wore it on a number of different visits to Canada

Kate Middleton's love of recycling clothes

KATE Middleton might be a Princess, but that certainly doesn't stop her from rewearing her favourite frocks.

Jenny Packham Gown: She first worn the frock to an ARK Gala Dinner in June 2011, and then rewore it three years later to the National Portrait Gallery in February 2014.

Alexander McQueen Coat Dress: Kate donned the beautiful number for Trooping the Colour in June 2016 and then just a year later, was spotted in it again for the Easter Service, in April 2017.

Temperley London Dress: She first wore the black lace dress at the War Horse Premiere, in January 2012, but then, just months later, donned it again, at the St. Andrews University Gala, in December 2012.

Hobbs Coat: Even Kate is a fan of a staple coat, as she’s reworn a classic number from Hobbs, which she first wore on Christmas Day in December 2012, and then again on a visit to Newcastle, in October 2013.

Kate Middleton’s sartorial choices continue to inspire many, proving that elegance and sustainability can go hand in hand.
