Fortnum & Mason selling £39.95 Valentine’s Day pork pies with ‘I love you’ on the pastry

ROMANTIC meat lovers can say “pie love you” on Valentine’s Day thanks to luxury department store Fortnum & Mason.

The royal grocer is selling a giant 1.4kg pork pie for £39.95 with “I love you” on the top in pastry.

Its product description says customers can “celebrate love in the most delicious way”.

Buyers are told: ” Carefully handcrafted in the heart of Melton Mowbray, this award-winning pie is made with the finest seasoned outdoor-bred pork, encased in a golden, rich hot water crust pastry.

“Each pie is baked in small batches and lovingly jellied by hand, ensuring exceptional quality in every bite.

“A thoughtful and mouthwatering way to say, ‘I love you’.

“They are best served hot, but equally delicious cold with a healthy spoonful of Fortnum’s Piccalilli.

The store also has a trio of smaller pies for £24.95, which come with pastry hearts on top.
